Are Connections Q & C Vouchers really a good deal??

Just back and used the Q&C vouchers at B&C and Pepper Market.
B&C has changed what you can get with the vouchers. We went twice and had 2 different servers and both times were told we could have any sandwich, fries or onion rings or fruit as a side, and fountain drink, (even the lime rickey counted as dessert) and any dessert. You could not get the Ceasar salad as a side and I'm not positive if you could get it as an entree as both times we had the steak sandwich and the double cheeseburger. They were still a good value as we really enjoy the desserts.

The vouchers were also a good deal at Pepper Market. We had Prime rib or Ribeye with roasted vegetables and baked potato, a drink, and dessert.

We used the VKL vouchers at RFC and was told that you cannot get the app. for 2 unless you use 2 vouchers. We did get the Volcano dessert using 2 vouchers. Our server was very helpful and were able to get the full slab of ribs with the stuffed lobster on the side, fries, drink and the ribeye with the stuffed lobster, fries, and the volcano dessert using 2 vouchers for all of us. We paid $8 for 3 additional teas and that was it.

The confusion comes, because there are different types of vouchers sold by disney for conventions and such. Your server has to read each voucher carefully to verify what restrictions are on the voucher. We will continue to use the vouchers and didnt feel like we were going out of our way to use them.

As the loopholes (kitchen sink, milk shakes as beverage) are closing up, I suspect the vouchers have more value as a way to pre-pay for meals and a way to give a family member something that will be used for food than a way to save a lot of $$$.

Please explain how you got the ribs with lobster on the side at RFC. Is this an entree, or did you pay for an add-on?
We are looking forward to eating here and getting the ribs. How were they?

My server suggested the Lobster add-on. I didnt really think they went together, but we were only using 1 adult and 1 child voucher so we I ate the Lobster and the kids ate the Chicken Strip app. and the ribs and fries. There were 4 adults and 5 children and it was pouring down rain as we were headed out of AKL and that's when we ducked into RFC. We just shared the food as a snack while we waited for the rain to subside. There actually turned out to be quite a bit a food and everything was really good. I signed my vouchers and the only bill was for the 3 raspberry teas. I didnt see what our meal total was, but I know it was over $100 as the surf and turf is $39.99 and the full slab was $20.99, dessert was $13 and the 2 drinks were $12. Add in the cost of the Lobster and tax and tip.

The servers have always been very helpful when we use these vouchers and they were great to prepay meals as we spent very little cash while in the parks. While walking thru EPCOT we decided to get something to eat and of all the places available my DH insisted we catch the boat to B&C for lunch, not because we had vouchers but because we really like the food. I felt good that I wasn't "steering" my family to these places because of the vouchers, because I did have money budgeted for other meals.

I also had 4 Breakfast vouchers left and when the boys went on the Pirate Cruise at GF we were able to eat at 1900 Park Faire for breakfast and the food was fresh and delicious and it was buffett. We didnt even have PS's, so that was a real treat. The chilled Strawberry soup was wonderful as was the cheesy potato casserole.

We had our 1st trip to wdw last week and I was disappointed with the vouchers. They are good, for not having to worry about carrying $$ for food, but your eating options are limited. If you want to stay in the parks for meals, your choices at the counter services are mainly hamburgers and fries. We got very tired of hamburgers by the end of the week.
