Are Canadians Getting this

For you fellow Canadians who have been invited to test in August...

Can you please check with Disney IT to see when the MDE site will be up and running for us? I think it's strange that they are inviting Canadians to test when it seems most can't access the site to take part (other than with the iphone app.)
 
I would love to hear if anyone is. The app tells me I have 5 Magic bands to manage and that I have only 5 days left to customize them. When I click to customize my ipad tells me the data supply has been interrupted. I am thinking this is because I am from canada and it's trying to access the US site? Maybe not?

I'm not getting the "data supply has been interrupted" error today and can customize my bands from the MDE app.
 
I just checked my order status and it said it is being processed and shipped soon, but the shipping address was changed from my home address to the resort address. has this happened to anybody else
 

After I read this thread this morning I logged back on with Tumblebear and VOILA! I was in to the FP+ system. I was over the moon, I tells ya. It did take a fair amount of time to do 6 days of FP+, maybe an hour and a half to two hours. I don't know if it was because I used the proxy or not - I'd tried it both ways a million times before today and had no luck. Maybe it's the number of times I tried...Anyway the flip side is I will probably change a bit of my dining but I am now guaranteed 2 rides on Soarin! Last year we didn't get on the whole week b/c we didn't want to wait hours.

Does anyone know if I can still use the regular fastpass as well?

I have been following the other fastpass+ threads and this is what I have heard....

Some people have reported that you will be allowed to use regular fastpass after you have used up your fastpass+ for the day.

Some people have said you have to choose one or the other, but if you choose to do forego fastpass+ on a particular day (as long as you don't have any fastpass+ booked for that day) you can use regular fastpass.

I don't know how true either scenarios are at the moment.

I do know that there is a fastpass+ tester today (for the July test) who has posted that he is able to use both fastpass+ and regular fastpass in one day. However, the August test has such a huge amount of testers, it's hard to believe that will be the case next month.
 
I only have one day left to customize and mine still says same error message. Too bad.

I have heard that if you are part of the test group, you will get an email 17 days before your trip, so maybe you are part of the test group, it's just too early to order them....I don't really know....just a guess. :goodvibes

Thanks! I will be sure to let you know. We go in 19 days so I wonder of that 17 day thing will apply. When I personalized the magicbands (how much am I looking forward to getting those little add-ons for them!!!) it said I had to hurry bc they were about to ship. :woohoo::woohoo:

What part of the MDE are you finding the FP/magicband stuff in?? We don't go till Sept so we miss the testing wondering if that is why I'm not finding it in the app...

Yes, if you have the opportunity, please do this if you will be part of the August testing.

It's great that Tunnelbear is a workaround, but we should be able to access MDE without third-party "ha ha tricked you" software!

I just received an e-mail from Disney Destination stating that I could pick up my Magic Band order at my resort when I check. That is all it said. It didn't say anything about the test.

I check into Pop the same day as you. It seems that Americans are getting the bands shipped to their homes, while Canadians are getting the bands shipped to their resorts.

I expect you'll get an email on Aug. 1st to invite you to test. Keep us posted.

I'm still too afraid to take the plunge so I haven't yet ordered my bands or picked fastpasses, but I'm warming up to the idea.

I talked to Magic band IT on phone and looked on MDE APP and my magic bands are on the app and I can activate them at anytime . Yes I am part of the test.
Disney only ships the magic bands in the US because of issues with customs, so if you live outside the US your magic bands are shipped to the Resort.

I'm really curious to know disney IT thoughts on when MDE will be up and running for us! When you spoke to them did they make any mention of that?
 
It appears that I can make my fastpass+ selections on the MDE app on my phone, although I haven't actually clicked on an attractions and confirmed anything yet, but it is showing that I "could" make selections for the week we are there in August (Aug 18-25). I'm confused though, I've not yet received an email or anything telling me that I can test out magicbands.... does this mean I can?

Just spent half an hour on the phone with a very helpful agent. He was quite flummoxed by how I had wound up on the list but went to a lot of trouble to make sure my bands would be at the desk at POP as he said they're not shipping them to Canada. He kept repeating that I would have to use a mobile app to access the MYE because the Canadian web site wouldn't do it. I didn't mention that I used a proxy to get around that particular issue. I haven't actually been able to access my MDE stuff on the Canadian app. I'm going to try to access the App Store with the proxy engaged and see if I can redownload it.

At this point I'm going to trust that the FP+ stuff that I've done online is okay since the bands and my participation in the program showed up on his system.

Anyone else had any luck with doing all this on the mobile app? FWIW we are checking into pop on August 7 for 6 nights in a preferred room.

Score another one for the disboards!!!

There is nothing about magicbands listed on the MDE app for me... but it just let be book fastpass+ for oneof our days (all the other days are showing open for reserving fastpass as well) I'm SO confused!
 
Have you tried accessing the App Store with the proxy on? I'm out for the weekend without my laptop <sigh of relief> so I won't be able to check until tomorrow night. That's my next trick. ;)
