Are Bonnet Creek just being difficult?

I have recently booked a 2 bedroom presidential unit in tower 6 and have been given my room number (1913)

I called the resort to confirm my reservation and room number and they told me that my reservation was in the system but the room number could not be confirmed until check in.

I was under the impression that one of the perks of booking presidential was so that you were assigned a room number on booking?

I didn't like this guys attitude at all. I have spoken to a few different people at the resort thus far and each one of them has not been particularly friendly, helpful or knowledgable. :(

Did you book through Wyndham? I found out that when you book through Wyndham they do give you a room number but that is only because they are filling rooms on a screen. Once people arrive at the resort and start making their request you might get bumped from the assigned room as Bonnet Creek is filling actual rooms not just those on a screen. If there is a maintenance issue, or a late check out so the rooms aren't ready, etc. it changes the way rooms are filled. Plus many people show up in person and demand certain buildings, rooms, etc.
We were told all 3 of our condos would be together on the same floor, same building and given room numbers. But when I called Bonnet Creek to see about getting a shuttle scheduled faxed so we could better plan our schedule they told me that nothing Wyndham told me can be qauranted. But I will say that they have always tried to honor our request to stay low to the ground - yeah right, we were on the 12th floor.
oh well, Bonnet Creek is still better than most places we have stayed. Just to many people requesting to many things.

Hi,

I booked through a timeshare owner and was told that I would have my room number upon booking.

I do have my room number but the resort told me they can't tell me what it is as it's against company policy.

I have no idea how the owner I booked though would know this.

I think you should just relax...

As long as you don't get a room that hasn't been updated (that was my biggest worry), I promise you, it won't really matter WHERE your room is located because EVERYTHING is in close proximity to everything else. You're in the newest building so you won't have to worry about that.

The only other thing might be lake view vs parking lot view or low floor vs high floor., and it appears you are on a high floor. If you don't keep that room # upon check-in (this happened to us), they really do try to accomodate your request. But it's more difficult for them to do if you check-in late (like we did), I'm sure. We were originally assigned to a lake view but ended up with the high floor, golf course/parking lot view (in bldg. #1) and we LOVED it! Soooo peaceful & quiet. I was actually GLAD we didn't get bldg. #6...the noise & traffic was horrendous!

Good luck, but I don't think you'll need it.

I called them to get a room # (we are staying in a 3BR Presidential 6/11-19) because I scheduled a grocery delivery and wanted to give them the room # to deliver to and the woman at WBC was very nice but said I didn't have an assigned room yet. She told me rooms (even presidential) were assigned about a week before check in. Sounds like we are all getting a lot of conflicting info but as a pp mentioned, all the rooms in Tower 6 are nice so I am not worried. I don't care about the view so I'll just take the luck of the draw knowing that we are definitely in Tower 6. I think there's something about Presidential "Reserve" that allows you to have a confirmed Room # but I don't know if that's only for WBC VIP's or what? :confused3

Wyndham VIP Platinum and Gold owners can reserve a specific unit if it is available.

Likely the owner you rented from is one and requested that room. However, because you are a renter, they can move you to any presidential room. The VIP benefits of the owner do not convey to you, the renter.

My experience is you get your room assignment when you check in. You never know when rooms are shut down for repairs, cleaning or they needed to move a group of people together or whatever.

I have read on this board about people calling ahead to make requests, but does it work? I haven't seen any evidence.

Bonnet Creek is a great resort. The presidential rooms are beautiful! Enjoy your trip!

Most hotels and resorts do not pre-assign room number until the day of because if there is something that they need to fix in the room or someone stays over or late then you will not get that room. In my 10yrs of working in the industry I can say my staff is trained to never tell a guest a room number until they are there to check-in and there are rooms clean and ready for guests.

My reservation say's it's for the presidential reserve so I'm hoping our room number will be secured!

Well, this is only one example.

I called about a week out and requested a lake view, on an upper floor, in Tower 4. We got top floor, lake view, in Tower 4...and actually a fireworks view as well!

We are Wyndham owners (not VIP), but I don't know if being an owner makes any difference.
