This is my first trip to Disney using an ECV. My ECV has a mesh basket on the back supported by a metal frame. It sticks out about 12"from the seat. Am I allowed to use this at the parks? Also, will I be able to use the trams from the parking lot? Thanks so much!
I have seen people with baskets, but others that hang around here use ECV's and they will know for sure. As for the trams, you will not be able to get an EVC on those. If you do not have a handicap tag you can tell the parking attendants that you have an EVC and they will help you. If you are with someone else that can drive, they can drop you off and then they can take the tram.
Yes you can use the basket, but since it is on the back of the ECV, be aware that you would have to remove it if using buses or things that you don't get off the ECV for. If you don't stay on the ECV for rides, then there should be no problem.
I also have one of those baskets, but find them to be more trouble than they are worth at Disney. It does add length to your scooter, which could make things more difficult for you. I would use a backpack on the rear before the basket at Disney.
My mum has used her ECV at Disney and has a basket,BUT her basket is on the front, I do think that having the basket on the back might make things a little more difficult for certain things, I dont know about the whole loading and unloading of buses etc and having to take the basket off,As my mum never had to take her basket that was on the front off I wonder why you have to if its at the back ??
It must have something to do with safety and measurements. Im sure more people will be along with more advice for your type of basket
For the buses, with the basket on the back, especially since it is so low on the scooter, it has to be removed in order to get to the tie downs. It also makes the scooter longer and will not fit in the area with the basket on the back. Baskets on the front don't tend to cause issues, because they are higher up and not in the way of the tie downs. They are also making some people take their backpacks off the scooter before boarding for the same reasons as the basket on the rear.
