Are "Bacos" a food?

I love "Bacos" on salad. But if they're not really bacon, what the heck are they? Are they even food?

Just wondering.

I believe they are some kind of soy concoction. The only reason I know this is because my sister doesn't eat meat and we checked - they don't have any meat in them (pretty sure it was "Bacos" brand). Lots of chemicals, though.

Jason, I didn't know you spoke Spanish.

I thought Bacos were a soy product, too. Those things are yummy straight out of the jar as a meal unto themselves.

I don't know either. But, I bought a big package of real bacon bits from Sam's. I think Hormel makes them, They come in a resealable bag and you just refridgerate them. So easy to put in salads or steamed veggies. Real bacon and only 1-2g of fat per Tbsp.

It's the "food that keeps on giving"
I LOVE them on baked potatos - however, if I eat them, I will be burping them up for the next 24 hours.



they make some that ARE from real bacon - but not crispy like bacos.
