Are backpacks allowed on rides?

Hope this isn't a really dumb question, but can you bring a small backpack all rides in all 4 parks, or do you have to put them in lockers?

I'm visiting from 12/15-12/23 with DW and DDs ages 8 and 10, so I'd like to be able to carry a few sweatshirts for when it gets cool in the evening, but would prefer not to have to go all the way to the front of a park to retrieve them.

You can, but Animal Kingdom has lockers - right across from Kali River, very handy so all your stuff doesn't get soaked!

You can even take bags on the roller coasters. I took mine on RnRC- I just put it on the floor and looped the strap around my leg.

7dmt has the least amount of floor space of all the coasters. I had to put it on my feet.

Every now and then my pack is too big for Soarin's underseat space, you just have to leave it on the ground in front of you and they'll move it to the side for you and you grab it when you're done. I've never had any probs taking my pack on anything else. As others have said, I usually just put it at my feet on coasters and put my legs through the straps.

I have a cross-body bag and have never had any problems. I agree with PP that 7DMT has the least amount of room for a bag and the smallest bag stash net. I either put my bag at my feet with the strap around my ankle or just bring the restraint down with my bag still crossed over my shoulder. Never a problem.

Sum of all Thrills is the only ride where you cannot take your bag with you. You will be given a locker to put it in. Soarin if it won't fit under the seat, you will need to have a CM place it in one of the spots where they will store wheelchairs and then grab it on the way out of the ride. Everything else you will have on ride storage for articles, or you may need to put it with your feet. Space Mountain can be a tight squeeze, but everything else just wrap the strap around your legs a few times and you will be fine.

The lockers across from Kali River Rapids are, I believe, on a timer for an approximate amount of time that you would be on the attraction so it's not intended for an all day rent in the back of the park. I'm thinking it's three hours? So I didn't want anyone to think they could use those all day without an increased charge. Someone can help better than me since I just zip up my valuables in bags and go down the falls, get soaked and then move on :)

If you don't know every park does have lockers you can rent for the entire day. We use them to put in things we might need at a the park but don't need to carry with us. It's great for things like bottles of water for after the park, clothes/jackets we may not need, etc.. Then we're hands free the entire day with a simple walk back to the locker if anything changes.. It might help lighten the load as it gets really annoying really fast with a full backpack of just in case items..

Yes, if it's indeed a small backpack it will fit on the rides.

But some of the huge backpacks and even rolling luggage I've seen being toted around the parks.....:scared1:
