Are backpacks allowed on rides?

Last time we had the stroller...so that where we stashed everything. This time the boy is expected to walk everywhere so I'll need a place for all my junk.

You know, discarded jackets, snacks, leapster (LOL), water, camera..money! We'll use lockers for the stuff we won't need as often.

I figured if DD & I carried a backpack each it would split our weight well & we could easily manage w/o the stroller....but can we lug them onto rides??

Yes, I have always brought my backpack on the rides with me.

Yes. Sometimes I stash it at my feet, and sometimes I hold it in front of me, but I always have my backpack with me on rides. The only exception is on GRR where I use the free lockers to stash it so it doesn't get wet.

Some rides the CM's will make you store them.

I always carry a backpack. I started carrying a backpack when my yougest was born (he will be 21 soon). I have a special backpack for DL. I keep it stocked and ready to go at all times. All I have to do is toss in my wallet. I have never been asked to store my backpack, except for one ride. That would be the Orange Stinger. Since that ride is gone (it will return as Silly Symphony) you won't have any trouble. On most rides I just place it on the floor, but on California Screamin', and Big Thunder I put one leg through the strap to make sure it does not fly out.

Haha, I do the one leg through the strap move too! And make sure those pockets are all zipped up!!

Yup - I brought my baby, backpack, and camera bag on rides yesterday.

ETA: I wasn't on rollercoasters though!

great topic! i am wondering the same as its been 11 years since ive been to DL. i remember my mom taking her camera bog on everything before. are we talking about mini backpacks or full size? wonder if they would let diaper bags come on then, thats usually what i carry EVERYTHING in because i gotsa lil one.

I use a full size backpack.

I carry a full sized day pack.

ashpinoza, I would say as long as the top of your diaper bag closes you would have no worries. But, try the backpack. Then your hands are free for your little one. That is why I started carrying one. It holds diapers, wipes, and bottles just fine.

When I started this thread I definately meant full sized! My little Nine West backpack purse can't hold 4 jackets!

I took my backpack on all the rides (and I rode every single ride at least once), even GRR once, because I forgot about the free lockers! It was a full size backpack, was probably half full most of the time. I didn't really have any trouble with the exception of Soaring. They have a small pouch under the seat, so I had to really cram to get it in. Although I don't think they would have minded if I just left the bag on the floor under the seat or off to the side.
