I just heard that some rides will not allow you to carry a backpack. Is this true? And if so which rides?
For those of you who take a backpack with you, What do you do?
Thanks for any help, Melissa

No, they are not allowed on some rides such as MIB, Mummy, the coasters, etc. They have lockers outside of the attractions which are free for about 2 hours. With FOTL, we stuck our backpack in there and rode the rides several times and still had plenty of time left on our locker rental.

On most rides, you can not bring anything on. Rides like the mummy, hulk, MIB, ripsaw, etc. have lockers. Usually, the lockers are free up to an hour or hour and a half. But, some lockers you have to pay for. I know that the ones near Ripsaw and Jurassic Park River Adventure are not free. I always put my bags/souvenirs in lockers though. Hope this helps!

We have a mini-backpack w/ tote w/ us to carry cameras, money and such...we were allowed to take it on Ripsaw. The only ones we were not allowed to carry our bag onto was: Hulk, DD, Mummy & MIB (altho, I did sneak my camera on MIB in my pocket... :ssst: )

We brought our backpack on every ride with us with the exception of the Hulk and DD. They go upside down and we did'nt want to lose anything.

They aren't allowed on Dr. Doom, MIB, or Mummy either.

does anyone know if this counts for mini-backpacks....mine's a tiny little one-shoulder contraption???

you'll still have to put it in a locker. the same thing for refillable mugs, etc.

How about fanny packs? I am blind without my glasses and want to leave them on while in line and them slip them in my belted on fanny pack. I assume the lockers are outside before you get in the queue? Thanks for any advice ... can you tell my visit (Oct 2007) is still in the obsessive planning stage! :)

I would think if they see the fanny pack, they will tell you to stowe it.....however, IF you explain how "blind" you are w/o glasses and need someplace "safe" to put them, they may allow it....or not :confused3 Maybe phamton has some insight to this......... :magnify: (and yes, lockers are outside before you queue)

You can't take ANY bags on the rides, of any size.

The lockers are pretty cool though!!

ROTM, MIB, Hulk, and DD = no bags, no exceptions. I can't count how many times someone tried to argue with me "It's not a bag, it's a (purse, hip pack, etc)." They were sent to the lockers.

On Doctor Doom, you can wear hip packs, as long as they don't interfere with the harness. All other loose items go in the bins on the side of your seats.

Get a clip fro your glasses, either the kind athletes use to keep them firmly on your head or the kind like a string necklace that you wear around your neck.

Thanks all for the advice. I will use my stringie "hold my glasses on" thingie. I was just thinking that the glasses would be considered a loose item too!!!! Or I will just stumble/struggle without them cause I am phobic about losing my glasses. No huge deal. I make DH interpret what I can't see. HEE HEE HEE!

phamton - I see you are the one "in the know" - you answered another question for me on a different thread. Thanks!

I'm so excited about US/IOA now ... and I don't even have this trip listed in my signature!!! But someday soon! :thumbsup2
