Are backpacks allowed in Theme Parks?

yes, all purses and backpack, diaperbags, and kind of bag, you have to go thru security check, no big deal, just be ready with your bags open, you will get thru the line faster:teeth:

My sister got a clear see through backpack from walmart that she swears cuts down on wait time and no security guard actually has to touch the baby's stuff ( She is very paranoid regarding the baby and germs:D )

Yes, but why would you want to???

We have gone through 4 toddlers. The most we ever bring is a large fanny pack. Our kids are now 18, 16, 11, 7

We tried bringing our own stroller once... never again!

Less is more! Especiallly late at night after a long day in the parks.

TG Yes...I'd DIE without ours!

I was afraid after 9/11 that WDW might quit aloow backpacks like the Braves Turner Field did.I haven't been to a Braves game since Oct 2001 so I don't know if it's changed.

Joe and the boys take turns carrying it with me which I like...let's see them carry my purse anywhere else on Earth!!:p

We carried one on our recent trip and would have been lost without it.

We packed lunch and cold drinks, had a place to stow the camera, sunscreen etc.....and best of all a place to put the stuff I couldn't resist in the shops.

The only times it was awkward was on Splash Mt (we both have long legs, it was a tight squeeze) and on The Rapids ride at AK. We were the last to board and the center compartment was already over full, the lids wouldn't close so we chose to hold the back pack. Luckily I had one of those cheap rain ponchos from Walmart with me, I put it over the back pack and we were fine.

Have fun!

For those that want to avoid backpacks, lunches fit in fanny packs, and if you are staying on property, just have all your "stuff" sent to the resort. Why carry it? It's free unless something has changed since last summer...

Agreed, backpacks are allowed but I strongly suggest against it. I can't imagine lugging that around with you, all that heavy unneeded weight on your back all day. Fanny Packs are the only way to go!!

For those that want to avoid backpacks, lunches fit in fanny packs,

Lunch for 1 may but not for 3 kids including a drink bottle. I like it with a small softside cooler and a small fanny pack. That does the trick for us.

You are so funny :)

I have 4 kids. They all carry their own fanny packs and have since they could walk. If I was stuck in a situation where I absolutely had no choice, the softside cooler would head to a locker and only come out at lunchtime. For our family not being encumbered makes the whole thing more enjoyable.

To each their own. Enjoy your backpack. I just won't ever understand it except for extenuating circumstances..

Ah heck, I'm not encumbered at all with it. Perhaps some can just handle a little weight better than others.:sunny:

(used to live in CT, we loved it. Danbury area!!) But, yes, backpacks can go in. you can take them on all the rides too. Secrurity with them is no problem. 5 minutes tops. Have fun!::MickeyMo

:) Oh Ouch... feel the burn :)

Just because I CAN take the weight and the annoyance of something else to take care of doesn't mean I WANT to...

Like I said, to each there own. I just hope I don't get behind you backpack toting packrats in the security line ;)

I started using a back pack a couple of years ago and it was a god send. I have to lug it a few places but it doesn't bother me. I'm not saying carry all your stuff with you like you were going on a hike but it does give you felexability. If you are behind a back pack move to another line there are plenty to go around.
