Are Atlantis excusions "timed"?

We were considering the half-day Aquaventure excursion, because it seems to have everything the full day has like access to The Digs and aquariums and waterpark (but not the beach, I see). It does not include lunch like the full-day, and is listed as three hour duration vs. 4-6 hours for the full day. It is considerable less money, like $89 instead of $179 or close. Do they time you? Do you "check in" and three hours later get booted out? We don't want to spend the day at Atlantis but may not be done in three hours!

Fun question. I suppose if you are booking with Disney and you don't leave at half day then you have to figure out your own transport back to the ship? :confused3 Hope you get your answer.

We didn't do the Aquaventure, so not sure about that one specifically. We did the touring of the Dig and resort. Once it was done we were free to wander these areas on our own, and they had multiple times the transport back was available. I don't remember the exact timing, but it was at least every half hour if not more frequent. I wouldn't be surprised if the Aquaventure is similar.

This one is actually cheaper, which is why I was concerned that it may be very constraining time wise! Thanks so much for your response!

I'm not sure how much time you have but if you book a room at the Comfort Suites, everyone in your room gets access to Atlantis, all day. You can check in and check out all at the same time and they give you a pass to redeem at Atlantis.

I stayed there in February (as an actual hotel guest) and it's a whole lot cheaper than staying at Atlantis or the Aquaventure pass. (I think we got it for like $160 a night) It's not a far walk from CS to Aquaventure. Maybe 10 minutes?

Thanks so much, I have read about this on these boards, but it is just two adults who don't want to spend all day there !

No problem. It might even be cheaper than the half day pass depending on the price of the room- and you also wouldn't have to worry about time constraints. We got a great AAA rate.

Did you ever find an answer to this? I'm looking at these options too, but the website does say that the half-day is only a certain cruise out of Galveston TX. Maybe because that ship is only in port for half a day?

Turns out the half day excursion wasn't even offered on our sailing. I think it is only offered on cruises sailing out of Galveston that will be in Nassau a shorter time.
