We had APs when we were in Disney last September but sadly we didn't renew. On that same trip we realized just how much nicer and easier it was to drive to the parks rather than ride the busses.

So is there any other way to get Free Parking or discounted parking?

Thanks!

All Disney resort guests park free.

If you show a confirmation for check in that day can you get free parking? We're going to go straight to the parks our first day - no time to waste on check in! - so we won't have our parking pass.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Really! I thought it was $6 per day! I thought only AP holders could park free. I'm so hoping this is true! It is sooo much nicer to drive.

It is true! :cool1: All you have to do is show your resort parking pass at the gate and in you go. One of the perks for staying onsite.

Deb - I don't know if they'll let you in for free with just the confirmation. Would be worth an email to Disney to find out though. I'm curious too now.

Actually, it's $8 to park now. They raised it fairly recently. :( But yes, resort guests park for free...I don't know about same-day arrival & parking though.

I didn't know that about resort guests because I have an AP, but on our trip a few weeks ago our friends who don't have an AP, but were resort guests were waved on through at MGM, but had to pay $8 at AK, even though they showed their resort parking pass.

I just thought they were being nice at MGM!

Resorts guests are free (Disney only), along with AP holders who aren't staying onsite

What about the DDD resorts? Specifically the Hilton? Thanks!

No this does not enclude the DDD resorts. It's only for the Disney hotels...value, mod, delux and home away from home.

It could be the person who made you pay at AK, could have been new and didn't have all the rules straigh in their head. Because if you are a resort guest you do not have to pay for parking at the parks.

DDE card holders can park free after 5:00PM I think and they used to be able to get a refund if they just went into the park to eat dinner then left. I am not sure if this is still available since they have made it available to more people now.
