Are any of you cancelling Boma...

With all the talk of full or partial closing at AKL later summer, are any of you cancelling your ADR's for Boma? We have one for the 22nd or 23rd of August and now I'm wondering if we should just cancel and book something else...just in case...

Anyone?

Hi lauralee! I haven't been on the boards in awhile...are you saying the partial closing may affect the restaurant? Or just that you may want to avoid the whole area while they are working on the Lodge? Just wondering...we have an ADR on Oct 1 for breakfast...how long will parts of the AKL be closed for? Thanks.

I don't see why you should. The resort is not closing completely so the restaurants are staying open and shouldn't be affected by the construction.

We're "AKL refugees" who got moved from a Savannah View bunk bed room to SSR for our 7/19-7/22 trip, but we kept our ADRs for dinner at Boma on 7/20 so we could at least still see the resort, plus Boma sounds great (we've eaten at Jiko but never Boma).

Not cancelling our 7/21 ressie. As long as it's open we'll be there. If they were planning to close they wouldn't take ADR's.

Well I wasn't sure if I should cancel or not...maybe not necessarily "dinner", but I was looking forward to wandering around the resort and seeing the animals, but I can't tell if the animals will be around or what. We love the AKL and are really looking forward to going back...even if it's just to eat....

When are you arriving in FL??? Edited to add..."Oops....I just saw your ticker!! There's a big Focker meet on the beach at the Poly...8:30pm on the 25th if you're around!!

We're eating there for the first time on the 22nd and I plan on keeping the reservations because DH is dying to try it I've read in numerous places that the restaurants won't be closed

BF and I have an ADR for Aug 31. We have no plan on cancelling!

Food there is yummy!

Yes, we are. Since we got the big, lucky bump to the GF, I am not to trek all the way to AKL to eat. It's good but with so many other places to try, why make such a long trip. We'll be back there for our next trip.
