Are any of the parks really "one day parks" if you've never been there and you're there at a crowded time? At various times I've heard or read about people "doing" Epcot, AK and MGM in one day (or even a half day) each.

I think AK could be done in 1 day, if you have a good plan...........MGM, maybe..............Epcot, and Magic Kingdom you really need at least a day and a half each.

My opinion -in a word - No!

If you have never been, you will miss a lot or if you try to see it all, you will be feeling rushed and frazzled. If you are going at a busy time, the benefit is that there are longer park hours (generally) so you will have more time, but then the crowds will slow down how much you can accomplish.

Now, if you only have 4 days, and are hoping to get to all 4 parks, it is very doable to see all 4 - you just can't see everything!

Well, it does also depend on what you are planning to do - if you are not going to do any of the "thrill" rides, if you are not going to watch any of the parades or shows, if you will be in line on an EMH to get in the gates 45 min before the opening time and you stay until the gates close....

I just think it would mean going in knowing you are not going to see or do everything you want.

We will actually have 9 full (non-travel) days, but it will be hot and crowded, and I'd really really like to take breaks during the day or at least have a nice sit down meal to rest and cool off each day.

As for AK, our 8 year old is a huge animal fan, so I have a feeling that we will be spending longer there than lots of people.

DH likes to see and do EVERYTHING...at Disneyland Paris it was almost time for the park to close, and DH got very upset that we only rode the train 3/4 of the way around instead of all the way around (I wanted to end up by Main St.) - so you see what I'm dealing with.

I would suggest you get to the AK as early as possible. The safari animals are usually more active then. You still may be able to see everything in a single day.

We just got back from our second trip to WDW and, for me, MGM could now be a one day park. I love RNR, TOT, and The Great Movie Ride, as well as Muppets, Beauty and the Beast, and Little Mermaid, but RNR and TOT are the only ones I care to repeat during the trip.

As for AK, it could be done in one day but I enjoy this park so much I have to go back and do it all again before the end of the trip.

MK, two days for sure.

EPCOT, at LEAST two days to explore each country. A half day for Future World.

Alot of people say the Animal Kingdom (I have to admit, it's a 1 day park for me), but if you like to explore and wander you might find it more rewarding to spend more than a day.

I'd say the water parks too. Nothing else, though.

Well, I'm glad I voted "No" then ;) My youngest ds was 8 last year, we went to the World twice (April and December) and we spent a lot of time in AK! He is a huge animal fan also, so we found AK to be a park we spent more time in. In Dec. we even did the Sunrise Safari and were in still in the park at closing on one day (not the only day we went to AK that trip either!).

I think if you are going to either sit down to rest or take a longer break to cool off you will want to go back to the parks for more than one day. I think 9 days is a great length of time to be in the World! We typically spend two days at the parks, take a "break" on the third day (usually mini golf, DD, Boardwalk, pool time) then repeat. With 9 days, that gives you 2 for MK, 2 for Epcot, 1 1/2 for MGM, 1 1/2 for AK and 2 for "free days". We also like to go back to Epcot and/or MK for the full day we are at AK since it closes earlier. If there is an E-night, I might even plan to do that so you can add even more time to get to everything!

I think that would give your DH a good chance to see and do as much as possible!

Have a great trip!!
