Hey everyone,

Not been around for ages, have been ridiculously busy and this horrible monster has been taking up all my time!

Anyway life's starting to settle down again and of course the first thing on my mind is some Disney magic :wizard:

With the prices being quite a bit more this year I'm thinking if maybe getting annual passes would be best and want people's thoughts? probably only dream pass too to get emh!

Also if buying ap's we'd look at staying off site, do people still feel they get all the magic being in an off site hotel?

I'm thinking about a 1 or 2 night stay in October + Halloween party and a 2 or 3 night stay end of November for the Christmas magic .... that's this year at least :rolleyes1

we also bought AP (dream) and had a bit the same fear.... however, being on a budget this trip, we didn't see any other choice (not if we preferred visiting DLP a few times instead of one time). So we found this supercharming B&B, 85 euro for the 3 of us, located in a very charming renovated mill next to a river. It's 15-20 minutes drive to Eurodisney and since i never minded the 40 minute bus drive from old key west in WDW orlando to the magic kingdom, i figured driving 20 minutes wouldn't hurt us either. Plus, such a budget leaves us to enjoy a more relaxed pace, because of the possibility of including an extra night. And a more relaxed pace also means soaking in more of the atmosphere.
I also figured with the saved up cash and the extra time, I could easily also book lunches or dinners in the hotels to soak up their atmosphere, since i generally am most impressed with the lobby's, the grounds and the restaurants.
Now, if we should decide to do a trip in december, it'll hurt a little bit more not to actually live in those festivities, but once i calculate the cost of staying in hotel newport bay or new york, i know i'll be doing the same thing: offsite and likely more food in the hotels :-)

We are upgrading to an annual pass when we arrive August 18th. We have the 10 day park hoppers but are going to the parks all 12 days. It is cheaper than buying two day tickets plus we plan on returning in February. This will save us money in the long run. If we move to Florida in July 2012 as planned we'll really save a ton.

Eddie75, not sure if you realised but this is the Disneyland Paris board. :)

tinkertaylor05, we'd always stayed offsite previous to our last trip and never once found we lacked any magic. We're planning to come for a quick trip next summer so will probably stay in an onsite hotel again but this will be more for the location rather than the fact it's a Disney one. I wouldn't have any hesitation about going offsite again. :goodvibes

Thanks for the replies, after mulling it over I'm not sure realistically how much we'd use the annual passes and I'm a few clicks away from booking 3 nights in November .... now just to decide when :thumbsup2

Forgot to say your little furball is sooooo adorable!! What's he/she called? :goodvibes
