This is our first time paying dues and I noticed it said after February 15th you are late. But, when I log into my disney, I see that annual dues are due by Jan. 15. TIA
I have them withdraw monthly from my checking account. I have a lot of points and doing it this way is a lot less painful. As far as I know, they don’t charge an extra fee for this. It also helps with budgeting.
So, we pay after my CC rolls in the beginning of February. The stated due date is Jan 15, but you can pay by Feb 15 without any penalty.
This right here. Since DVC doesn't charge interest, you don't have to sit there with 20 gift cards every January. We started buying 2 gift cards from Target each month and putting them towards our dues about a week before the ACH processes. For years I gathered together gift cards and/or used the old Disney vacation account which would have some sort of a credit and then paid DVC on Feb 14th.
3 years ago I switched to monthly and pay down periodically with gift cards I purchase. And in the times I forget to do that it just withdraws from my bank account.
That’s what we’ve been doing too — buying Target GC with our Red Card each month and paying that month’s dues with them a week or two before the automatic withdrawal. We also apply all our Disney Visa rewards points every month. This right here. Since DVC doesn't charge interest, you don't have to sit there with 20 gift cards every January. this, I always pay early February without any issues. The stated due date is Jan 15, but you can pay by Feb 15 without any penalty.
This is so smart! Never thought to do that but this year I will be. We also try to pay more than the amount due so that we're all paid up as early as possible in the year and can start building a credit on the next year's dues. We paid off our 2021 dues in October and had over $400 credit built up by the time 2022 dues were assessed. It's not much, but it helps! This is so smart! I seem to fluctuate between death by a thousand cuts, and ripping the band-aid off.No monthly payments for me. I want to feel the pain all at once. That forces an analysis in my head to ensure it is worth keeping for another year.
I was not aware of this. So you can make payments on the website when no balance is due on your account? We also try to pay more than the amount due so that we're all paid up as early as possible in the year and can start building a credit on the next year's dues. Yes! The system will warn you that the amount over will be applied as a credit to the next year's dues, but you can still complete the transaction despite the warning. You have to do it as Pay Balance -> Pay By Contract and can use a credit card (I honestly can't remember whether it's restricted to Disney Visa, but I don't think it is), Disney gift card, or Disney rewards card.I was not aware of this. Yes, if you want to pay with a GC, just click Pay by Contract -> Pay Other Amount. If on Jan. 10 you pay off the amount scheduled to be drafted on Jan. 15, it will tell you that your next payment will be Feb. 15 and will be $xx. It will draft that amount out of your bank account on Feb. 15, unless you go in before that and apply another GC. If on Jan. 10 you pay only part of what you owe, then on Jan. 15 it will draft the balance of what you owed for that payment, and on Feb. 15 will draft the regular monthly amount (unless you pay that down prior to Feb. 15). We have found that to be very helpful - we buy Disney GCs using the Target Red Card. We try to pay more than the monthly payment, but sometimes that just doesn't work for our budget, so sometimes we skip a GC or make a smaller advance payment.Question - say my monthly dues are $200 and I am enrolled in monthly auto payment with bank draft.
If I buy a Disney Gift card and go in before the 15th of the month - do I go to Annual Dues Payment and pay by Contract "Apply Other Amount"?
If I pay the amount my monthly dues are say in January - but since I still owe Feb-Dec dues - will it make a monthly auto payment with bank draft still?
I guess I am confused about the steps.
Thanks in advance oh wise ones!!
