Are all German shepherds like this??

My baby will be two years old on May 9. When he was a puppy he had this habit of picking up everything (usually eating it). The vet said not to worry, that puppies are "oral creatures" and that's how he was exploring, by using his mouth. Well guess what? He's still doing it! He still picks everything up and eats it before we can stop him (he's quick). Does anyone have any advice? It's not like we don't feed him (he eats better than what we do, LOL). He takes his heartworm pills every month, and otherwise he doesn't do anything odd. He just eats stuff that he shouldn't. I'm afraid that one day he will get ahold of something that will really hurt him. Help!!

I've got one of those except that she is a Samoyed .... currently she is working on eating my deck . It's unbelievable what she gets into. I don't know what to do to stop it either. I am pretty sure that she is doing it out of boredom. I am hoping that the weather is going to get a little warmer soon so that we can stay out longer. I am also begging dh to build a fence. I think that would help tremendously.

My best friend has two GS's. No joke - last week one of them ate her homework. The kickers is that she's in graduate school - for her master's in education! All the teachers in her class got a big kick out of her announcement. She DID bring in the evidence. It's not just a cliche!

Sounds weird but ...My collie was eating weird stuff ..Eating toliet paper right out of the toilet ..Licking the table leg ..I finally talked to the breeder i got her from said to get her a dog multi vita . 2 days she stopped going in the toliet and doing the weird stuff..Oh yeah she was eating her own poop to thats why i got concerned...You may want to give it a try she was 1yr ..And was out of the puppy faze..Good luck

That sounds like something Cookie would do! She hasn't done it yet, but I wouldn't put it past her. I haven't heard of giving the multi vitamin. I've got to order some stuff from Fosters and Smith so I think I will add them to my list. Thanks!
