Are all Disney Stores closing?

I think it's a sad what happened to the Disney Stores. First they got rid of most of the adult clothing, then they got rid of the collectibles, then they got rid of the Galleries at the stores that had them, now they have very little children's clothing (at least at mine) and are mostly all toys.

IF TCP does take them over and they bring them back to what they used to be it'd be great, but I think that's a mighty big IF.

I wish Disney had kept the stores and just brought in someone with an outstanding retail background who would know how to run them. Disney is such a marketing genius, I don't understand why they couldn't figure out how to run the stores. I don't think enough attention was paid to TDS's, which is really a shame, because done properly, they'd be a gold mine for Disney.

Just be happy if you have a store near you, regardless of who owns it. I have to drive about 100 miles to a Disney Store. They closed down the one in our area and I miss it so much. We used to go there at least once a week for our disney fix. I am so jealous of those of you that live near a World of Disney store!!!

Ours closed last year. My 2 princess: princess: are 7 & 9. We went to two Atlanta area DS' this weekend. 2 seperate trips! I drove to North Point Mall on Saturday, bought costumes for our trip next week, lots of bargains there. I went to Arbor Place Mall (listed as the one closest to my home) on Sunday and bought the cloaks to go over the costumes (all at 25% off;) ). Spent a total of probably 8 hours on the road this weekend just to getour Disney fix. It would be great if TCP buys it and returns it to it heyday grandeaur. Sending pixie dust their way.................

Robin - I have three little princesses ages 2, 5 and 7. They are all crazy about the Disney princesses and we have to get our fix from time to time. We live near Greenville, SC and either drive to Charlotte or the Mall of Georgia in Buford. I was acually going to drive to one of these places to get a JoJo's Circus play set to use on a birthday cake but none of the stores had it in stock. The things we do for Disney magic!!

I think the stores have been on the decline for the last several years. It seems to me the product mixed changed, going to almost a strictly kids store. I guess my question would have been why fix it when it wasn't broke?

When my sister lived in Spartanburg SC we would drive out to the Disney catalog warehouse.. My dd who was 3 at the time started screaming "Disney store" when she saw the "ears"from the highway. We sure miss that place.. they moved to Kansas City last fall :(

We have a catalog outlet store in Branson.. 5hours away, luckily we have some Disney stores left in our area..

I wonder the same thing. I remember when all the adult clothing disappeared. I asked a Cast Member why they got rid of it and she sighed and said she didn't know. She said they get asked about it all day long and even gave me a number to call and request they bring adult clothing back. (I did call a few times and left a messages on voice mail, but never heard anything back.)

Before the stock changes my DS always had alot of people in it, maybe they were only looking and not buying, I don't know, but I do know I don't see nearly as many people in there lately as I used to.
