If my father-in-law wanted to get us tickets using his air miles with Delta or Southwest, is that allowed?
I just can't stomach these airline prices right now!

Thank you!

I'm not sure what you mean, but I'll answer what I think you mean! Some airlines have partnership agreements with other airlines. You'd have to check the airlines' websites (or call them) to see which ones.

I'll assume you're asking if you father can use his miles (within Delta for example) to buy tickets for someone else (i.e. you). Most airlines will allow you to do this, but you'd need to confirm with the specific airline. I've done it many times with a few different airlines (but never Delta or Southwest).

I know with my USAir miles I can buy a ticket for someone else, but I cannot give them the miles to buy their own ticket. I wish they'd create a family account so DH and I could combine our miles instead of having 2 separate accounts.

Sorry, I guess I didn't clarify my question too well! Yes, it would be my father-in-law purchasing tickets for my family using his miles.
Hope that clears it up!
thanks for your responses!

JennyMay, Your father can certainly buy tickets with his Frequent Flyer Miles through Delta for you and your family - we have done it several times for various family members and friends.
