Are afternoon parades doable with small children who still nap?

When we go to Disney in Nov, my DDs will be aged 4yo and 19mo. Our plan was to go early, come back and nap, then go back. We planned on skipping the afternoon parades. However, I think they'd really enjoy the Jammin Jungle parade in AK. Is it possible to try, or will that mess up the rest of the day and evening? I think our then 4yo would be fine, just the little one I'm worried about. Also, is that parade worth it? Do you know what times it usually runs? Thanks.

The first year we went kids were 2 1/2, 4 and 5. We never saw an afternoon parade. Last year kids were a year older and we saw one afternoon parade - Stars and Cars and MGM. Hopefully this year we'll try to see another afternoon parade but I don't count on it.

I think that's one of the best parts for little kids...I know I loved them...My mom and I would always get seats on the front row (usually in Frontierland) and everybody else would go sit in the shade. I would try not to miss the ones at MK or AK. AK you don't really have to wait for, but at MK I would sit down early and try to get them to nap while waiting. Parents can alternate going for bathroom breaks or getting snacks. For kids though, I just consider those requirements...but that's just me. I'm sure they'll love it either way, but the parades (especially from the front row) are so special for young children...Just my $0.02.

Absolutely worth it, a must-see!! Mickey's Jammin' Jungle Parade is my favorite Disney parade :)
I see it lots, and never tire of it!! :sunny: Lots of child interaction from the characters and the music is wonderful. The floats are creative and beautiful...
It begins at 4pm from the gate right next to the Kilimanjaro Safari entrance

Last year was our first time with our DS (3) for the parades. The good thing about the time of year you are going is all the parks close fairly early, so even if you skip a nap or just catch a quick 30 min one in the park you aren't missing out on evening hours in the parks.

DS slept on my shoulder prior to both parades last year at MK and MGM. I just found a bench in the shade while DH held us a curb spot and I woke him up just as the parade rounded the corner.

We go almost every weekend with our 4 yo, she doesn't often nap anymore, but if she needs to she just does it in her wheelchair....We try to go to at least one parade each time. Last weekend we saw 4 (Spectro twice, Cars and Stars and The Snow Globe one)

Thanks for the info....I was planning Epcot in the afternoon/evening of the AK day, which would mean no parade if its at 4pm. I guess we'll see how things go, cuz I really would like to take them to that one. Thanks!
