Are ADRs CRITICAL??

Thanks to everyone for your advice!! And yes...I did decide to make some ADRs...(applause here, please...:lmao: ) I got all the places I wanted, not necessarily WHEN I'd originally planned, but they're all going to work out well anyway!

Chef Mickey's - Sunday, June 8 at 9:15 - a bit late, but we're being lazy that day & aren't doing an early park day on Monday.

Coral Reef - Monday, June 9 at 8:30 (way cool!!)

Le Cellier - Tuesday, June 10 for lunch at 2:20 -- saves us money by going a few hours earlier than dinner menu...will be nice to have a break in the cool cellar atmosphere!!

Raglan Road - Sunday, June 15 at 7:00 p.m. After a day at Typhoon Lagoon, should be fun!!

We're not worried about V&A's this trip, & I'm sure there are a ton of places we SHOULD go to, but I'm happy with these; while we're there I might try to snag something in the morning if we have an inspiration, but I won't be heartbroken.

Thanks again, everyone...you inspired me to finally make the call!! I'm not sure why I kept procrastinating about it!!!!!!! Wait! I know why...I HATE talking on the phone!!! :rotfl:

In August of last year during our stay everyone without a reservation was turned away at every sit down dinner where we had reservations. We also went during non peak times and ate during non peak times.

We saw the same thing in Feb and May, with the exception of the California Grill. No one was asking there.

What we found in APRIL last year during spring break(We had ADR's) when we wanted to switch stuff around (we are a party of 6) it was easier to do if we picked a restuarant outside of the parks= like at a hotel.

Me I would make ADR's with a general "plan" in mind - then if you get there and things change- cancel and try to make new ones. Better safe than sorry.

Oh and I'll tell you this on Character meals- I'm not making any because I REFUSE to pay more just because I am going in the summer!! So I think there might be more availability with those options as well.

You did the right thing. On this board you'll mostly read "Make ADRs". However, keep in mind that Disney sees June as being so busy that they now have raised the price of the character buffets for June, just like they've done aroun Christmas. Its a simpl suppy and demand decision. :thumbsup2
