Are 2 days at AKL not enough?

We are staying at the AKL 12/17 and 12/18 before we move to a moderate resort before the peak rates go into affect.

Are we going to be very disappointed with only two days and can you truly experience the highpoints of the AKL in only 2 days?

Two days should be more than enough time. Some folks will say one day at AK is too much, but we like it. If you get there early enough, you should be able to do it in one day, though.

Just to clarify this do you mean the highlights at DAK (the park) or at AKL (the lodge)?

BTW - Someone correct me if I am wrong, but I think the rate you pay for the entire stay unless you make separate ressies is the period in which you start in. Therefore is say you start your stay in the value season but then later it jumps to peak, you still pay the value season rates. I could be wrong, but you might want to check on this.

This is absolutely correct - Disney charges you for your entire stay at the rate in effect on the first day of your stay. This works in your favor if your stay starts during value season and ends in peak season, but it can obviously work the other way as well.

AKL is a wonderful resort and there are lots of great things to do there. They can all be enjoyed in two days, but if this is your first trip there and you can swing it, another day or two would be that much better.

Two years ago, we split a stay at AKL, spending three nights and then moving over to the YC for 4 nights.. We loved AKL, but thought three nights was about right for us, as we felt a bit isolated.

We stayed at AKL for the first time last month (6 nights)...and I have to say that one day there would have been plenty for us. We just didn't like it as much as we thought we would. Live and learn! We're staying at our beloved POFQ in May, can't wait to stay there for the 3rd time!! :)

AKL

Peak season starts 12/20/05. Our reservation for CSR starts 12/19/05. We are paying value season rates thru to 12/26

We were at AKL last November for 4 nights (part of land/sea). I could've stayed a week there easily. However, part of the reason we weren't able to take in everything was because we were soooo busy trying to squeeze in all the parks that we didn't really have enough time to relax and enjoy the resort.

we do AK in 1 morning but we skip a bit of the trails. One day for this park is MORE than enough. But you can always enjoy the resort and take a bus to MGM or Epcot. They aren't too far. Magic Kingdom is further.

we just did 4 days 3 nights, and felt it was a little rushed.

we never had just a day to sit and lounge around the pool, always late at night when we got back, and since it is kind of out of the way, we were usually the last one out each night.

Since we go often and live in Florida we usually only stay 2 nights/3 days when we visit WDW. We have stayed at AKL three times in the past 7 months and still have not had a chance to use the beautiful pool or experience any of the other activities (cookie decorating for dd, culinary tour, etc..). We are just on the go to much to sit back and relax in a 2 night/3 day period of time. If you plan to use the days you are staying at AKL as laid back resort days, then you will have time to experience this beautiful resort.
