I just read an article about Michael Graves. He's the architect behind many of the Disney buildings including the Swan/Dolphin, the casting office and the main Disney office building in California (Eisner's headquarters). He's also famous for many designs he does for Target products including the Mickey coffee set, etc.

A few months ago he got a severe sinus infection while traveling. Somehow he got his pills mixed up and didn't take the antibiotics. The infection went into his spinal cord and he is now paralyzed from the waist down. He's in the same rehab center where Christopher Reeves was treated. They kept it out of the public until now. He is starting to make plans for how he'll continue working and redesigning his home if he isn't able to walk again. He's also had his eyes opened to what is needed for life in a wheelchair and may be designing new products and ideas, too.

I was very startled to see the headline but I'm hopeful for either his recovery or ability to function as he is.
