DH and I took the class when we were there in May. We had a great time. It's a long class (around 2 hours) and you shoot a lot of arrows. We learned a lot and would probably do it again if we can find time. We still haven't had time to rent a boat or go horseback riding. Maybe when we go back in March. We try to do something different each time we go.

Do they have bows that my 6 year old son would be able to draw back on? He would LOVE this!

The info says "ages 6 and up" so I'm betting :thumbsup2

There was a thread a while back where someone asked if something like this would be dangerous - young kids shooting arrows - and Shan-man had the best reply ever that it was FAR more dangerous to have dozens of kids with sticks and flaming marshmallows running around a campfire every night. :rotfl:

Yeah, I'm not really worried about the danger, I mean you gotta let the kids live a little ya know?! I was just hoping someone who has done it might chime in on whether or not they saw other 6 year olds doing it that were able to actually pull back on the bow.

My brother had his own kid-sized compound bow when he was around 7-8 years old, and he was the scrawniest kid on the planet until he hit puberty - all legs and big, knobbly knees. :thumbsup2

And I definitely agree about not wrapping kids in bubble wrap to protect them. We were constantly climbing trees (and falling out of them), mucking about in the brook, skateboarding down our steep road and doing all sorts of things resulting in bumps and bruises as kids. And that was the fun of it!

Plus this is Disney after all - I'm sure the lawyers had to sign off.

We did it in May and there were 3 small kids in our class. I don't have kids myself, but I would guess they were around 7 or 8. They have smaller bows for them. The instructors are also very good about safety. I think they would enjoy it.

If you are really quiet and sit still long enough, you will have several moving targets come through the campsites. AKA armadillos.

Slow roast at about 350 to 400- baste with BBQ. Umm Ummm Taste like mouse.
:rotfl2:
