Archery for 6 year old

I have some question about the archery since the only thread I found for this was 3 years old.

Our son, Oliver, turns 6 our first full day at Disney (this is a surprise bday trip for him). He's been crazy for archery since watching Brave and an older cousin took up archery. Cousin lives out of state so we've only seen pictures.

1. I know it says he has to be 6 for archery, but since he's turning 6 the day we'd do this do you think he'd be too young for it?

2. Do they still offer this on Saturdays 2:45-4:15pm?

3. Since we'll be at MK in the morning, we'll take the ferry over the FW. What time should we get to the front of MK to head over there? This will be the first Sat after Jan. 1.

4. We're planning on Chef Mickey for dinner afterward. What would be the earliest we should make our ADR for?

5. Normally I'd have us head back to the resort for a rest and lunch, but with archery it wouldn't leave us a lot of time to relax. Do you recommend anything quiet to do at FW before archery?

6. Little sister, Lucy, will be 4 1/2. Do you think watching archery for 90 minutes would be entertaining? I'm thinking of just having Dad take Oliver for some guy time and Lucy and I would stay at MK. Maybe have her get her hair wrapped.

As long as he's 6 I'd say you're good to go.

Lucy might enjoy a pony ride and looking at the horses and stables.

besides the pony rides and horse barn, there are playgrounds for Lucy and the campstore to explore. i think you could keep her busy for 90 minutes.

Just an update. I spoke with Disney and was told children need to be 7 years old now, not 6.

Bummer! I was getting all excited about this option for our upcoming trip. But DS2 will only be 6.5; there is no way I can schedule this for DS1 and not DS2. :-(. Who can I call to confirm the latest policy?

I was using the chat feature online when I asked about the age change because the website for Disney listed the age 6 on one part of the page and age 7 on another.

I just looked up the phone number for Fort Wilderness but haven't called them yet. You can give it a try 407-824-2900

Oh boo! I didn't read the minimum age requirement. My DS9 & DS5 wanted to do the archery this trip. There's no way I can let DS9 do it and DS5 won't get to shoot. That would not go over well.
