I am new to these boards but I have been reading for a week. I am thinking of going on a cruise in 2006 with me and my 2 sons who will be 16 and 12 at the time. My question is My sons love to play video games and internet games, I gather that they have these on board, are they in an area where both sons can be in together? And how much does it cost per usage! I have never been on a cruise and very excited about hopefully getting to go on the dcl. Thanks for help and I am sure I will be asking tons of other questions.

We just got back from a 7 night Magic cruise. My 9 year old loved the arcade. It is really small but entertained him and many others. You purchase an arcade card and then you put the card in and each game is 50 or 100 points. (Equal to 50 cents or a dollar). My son spent about $100 that week. His Grandma was there and kept getting him new cards. I wouldn't have been so nice. When the charges got to $100 the desk called to ask if this was ok. I was surprised they waited that long. If your kids have charging privledges on their cards you may want to ask to be alerted sooner or tell them they cannot get another card without telling you. Guest services will sell them as many as they want if the are allowed to charge. He also played Playstation 2 in the Oceaneer lab a few times for free. He didn't really enjoy the lab.

BE careful with the costs because they can run up before you know it at the arcade!!!

The arcade is called Quarter Masters and it is for all ages. They can definitely go together. The cards are sold from a machine in the arcade that gives you another card in $10, $15 and $20 denominations. They can add up quickly if you don't watch. You can have your sons cards punched to not allow spending, but not sure if you would want to do that for those ages. The games are "older" and some were in tough shape. Its a good way to waste some time, but won't be the focus of their days I don't think. There is also Playstation 2 and Xbox in the clubs and I believe the Stack had Playstation 2 as well. Your younger son, may or may not be allowed into Stack as it is for teenagers, but he may be able to go in because of your older son and the reverse for your older son, he won't be allowed into the Clubs. Hope this helps.
