arcade cards- can they be a stateroom gift?

I was thinking of what to do for DH and DS as a surprise, none of the stateroom gifts look like something theywould like, I was thinking maybe I would just prebuy DS an arcade card and have it waiting in our stateroom but don't know if that is something you can do? I suppose I could just get one right when I arrive but wanted to surprise him. As for DH we are doing the REAS package so we will have the massage together so I guess that will have to do.

we tried to do this for our cruise last March and were told they didn't do that and that we would just have to buy it after we boarded.

I guess I will just sneak off and grab him one, hard surprising an 11 year old..

The closest thing from DCL would be a stateroom credit that could be used toward the game card.

If you know someone (or can find someone on this board) that is cruising before you go, they can buy it for you and you could sneak it into the stateroom.

what I think I will do is when we are eating the lunch buffet say I have to use the bathroom, scoot down to the arcade purchase a card and pop it in the cabin on his bed. Too bad DCL has not thought of adding them to the stateroom gifts.

Keep in mind that if your DS does not use all of the amount on the arcade card it will be lost at the end of the cruise. As I was tending to an error on our bill the last day a boy was asking to recieve the unused amount in refund and was told that was not possible...He had 2 cards he'd received as gifts and didn't use. We let DS (12) buy the cards as needed and limited him to 3...$30 is more than enough to play games. He purchased them on his own at Guest Services...sure he thought he was a big shot. Additionally, the arcade cards come in different designs making for a nice and cheap souvenier for the kids.
