Arriving at WDW (DH, me, and 2 daughters, ages 9 and 7) on 8/15 at 2:30pm so we have the evening free. I thought a show might be nice. So far I've narrowed it down to Arabian Nights and Hoop De Doo Musical Review.

Any thoughts of which one is preferable? We have to be at Discovery Cove at 9am the next morning, so we don't want to be out too late.

Thanks!

Since no one has answered you, I will chime in with the fact that my family (including 2 kids ages 5 and 8) LOVE the Hoop De Doo Revue. I haven't done the Arabian Nights one for so long it wouldn't be fair to say that we don't like that one, however.

This year will be the 4th time for dh, ds and me, 5th time for my sister and my dd, who went an extra trip with my mother the year my son was born.

For my money, the Hoop De Doo can't be beat and the kids love the corny comedy that is so much a part of this dinner show. Food is typical picnic fare, ribs, chicken, corn and strawberry shortcake for desert, if I remember correctly. Drinks are included, including sangria and beer!

Whatever you decide, have a great time.

IMHO HDDR is the way to go. I've been to both and found HDDR more entertaining and worth the $$. I don't think I'd go back to Arabian.

MIL requested that we take her to Arabian Nights for her b'day. She has also made reservation for the 4 of us (husband, MIL, 9yr son and myself) to go to Hoop De Doo one of the other nights. I am planning on Arabian Nights the night after we do Animal Kingdom in the afternoon. Hoop De Doo will be after 2nd EpCot night. I want to devote a night to each AK, MK and EpCot so we can see their shows. The 6th night hopefully we will be doing Villian dinner at GF.

If your daughters are horse crazy they will love Arabian Nights. The show is about a princess who is looking for the perfect prince, one who likes horses as much as she does :). I really liked the show and some of the horsemanship was supurb. The male star of the show had his Arabian doing flying lead changes on every other step. The performers, both human and equine, meet with the guests after the show. The food is nothing to write home about. Thinly cut prime rib, IIRC.

Hoop de Doo has a corney, but fun show based on a troupe of traveling old-time western troubedors. They inetract with the audience, sing and tell jokes. I also like this show. The food, IMO, is good. A lot better than Arabian Nights. Fried chicken, beef, beans, etc. Stawberry shortcake finishes the meal. Yum!

Both meals include all the alcoholic beverages you can drink.
