Aquatica

Hello all!

I'd just like to get some opinions from those who have visited what it's like at Aquatica? We are thinking of adding it to our annual passports this year and would like to gauge whether people think it's worth the extra $$.

We are 2 adults and DS of 2 and DD of 4.

All opinions good and bad are welcome!

Well worth it. I would say it depends on when you visit as it gets full quickly.

We had a great time, the wave pool is fantastic and for the children, their area is wonderful.

The areas could be signed better, but a minor complaint.

It's each to their own.
We personally didn't enjoy it.
I felt it was not very well mapped out (signs etc)..the fast lazy river (not sure what it was called) I'd recommend not letting go of the children,We kept going round and round couldn't get out at the exits
We feel Disney waterparks are more suited for us with children but that's my personal experience and opinion.

That said it's always worth visiting somewhere once and getting your own experience.

Our personal opinion was that it was not worth the money, we booked a Cabana. If it wasn't for this we wouldn't have spent as long as we did in the park. There aren't many rides, signs were poor.

It seemed as if they had taken the worst parts of other water parks not the best. Will not be going back.

I would add it =) we went last night for the first time and loved it. It does fill to capacity most mornings i beleive but emptys out about 4 ish. Longest wait we had was for the wahanu(sp?) and that was only 15mins. Not the biggest waterpark but has some great slides and is easy to navigate compared with BB or TL.

We didn't enjoy Aquatica - there is a report of it in my trip report (Fred, Wilma and Family).

The childrens area was really busy and full of teens/tweens spraying the smaller kids with water (and the water jets are really strong). I didn't feel safe there and I wouldn't have dreamed of letting Daniel play on his own there. We did enjoy the rapid river thing but it was the only thing we really liked and spent most of the day in it - not worth the entrance fee just for that though. The dolphin water slide is an absolute farce, you can't possibly see them through the tubes, you get a much better view of them looking into the pool where they are or from the viewing area on the lazy river.

Each to their own though and I have read that other people do enjoy it

W|e went in March and had a wonderful day, one of the best of the hol, we made a full day if it, with plenty of goes on the slides and plenty of relaxing time, Our party ages ranged from 61 - 1years old, and we all enjoyed it. Saying that it wasn't busy at all and we didn't have to queue for anything, wouldn't want to think i was haveing to queue an hour in the heat, but the food was lovely and reasonably priced.
So yes i would reccomend it to anyone.

Our kids loved it! We went in November though so were probably spoiled by how quiet it was.

I followed Molly round on the big kids playarea which is busy, very wet (doh!) and with lots of slides ending in different directions.

The toddler area is nice with a few slides & short raft rides into a central pool.

I'd agree that the current in the lazy river seemed fast - we prefered the one without the inflatables as it was fun trying to get us and the kids in and out in a current!

G was glad he'd only waited 5 mins for the dolphin slide rather than the 2 hours our friend had that summer (neither saw a dolphin!)

i don't think the dolphin slide was ever going to work, they probably don't appreciate people shooting over their heads and avoid going near it.

we got aquatica tix with our seaworld tix but we are still in two minds whether to go or not

Now - I need to confess to something before I carry on....... I have finally worked out how to use the multiquote thingy so I am using it to it's full capacity!!

Why did you not feel safe in the children's area? It's hardly Compton or the Bronx is it?

I think I know what Joh means, some times if there are bigger kids there and they are spraying the little ones etc it can be a but scary, I would have been scared that one of them would get hurt if the bigger kids got a bit carried away.

We are going in January so I doubt that it will be that busy then,if it is anything like BB was this year we had the kiddies slides to ourselves for most of the day!
I couldn't ever figure out how they thought you would see the dolphins while wizzing through the slide before my laser surgery I wouldn't have even seen the water!

I remember you saying that you didn't enjoy it, DH was looking at the website last night and thought that wasn't very well mapped out - so I dread to think how the park is done!

We visited in September. The split does seem to be 50/50 - remember though that some posters only seem to like anything Disney related, be open minded.

My favourite is BB, but Aquatica is catching up.

It's not that we like Anything Disney related..Infact Seaworld used to be a firm favourite of mine until recently..I just felt it wasn't for us..like I said it's all up to your own opinion and experience.
I didn't like CP,Ohana's either..But loved T-rex. I guess you have to make your own judgements.

We visited last spring, and we weren't impressed. My dc were 5 and 3 at the time, and I found the childrens area far too busy, not with people - with slides and water jets etc. You couldn't tell where a slide was going to emerge and there were so many of them! I spent the entire day terrified that I was going to lose one of the children.

The children themselves much preferred BB (favourite) then TL. In both of these parks they could have a little independence and we could watch them from the side with them in our sight the whole time.
