Aquatica- should we have a touring plan?

We've never done a waterpark before and we get Aquatica with our DC tickets. Kids are so excited about this!

I looked through all the slides and stuff to do but I was thinking maybe we'd better have a plan of what to do first, second etc. Anyone have recommendations of which slides to do first (which tend to fill up fast and have long lines throughout the day)?

Original plan was to do this park on our last day in Orlando (June 3) but it suddenly occurred to me that if there is a huge storm or something and we don't get much time and they have to close that we won't get another day to go back. So I'm thinking of bumping our waterpark day up to Sat June 1 with the idea that we can just go for the morning and return on Monday the 3rd to finish and redo our favorites.

Anyhoo, someone wanna help plan our day? We've got teenagers so they aren't interested in any kiddie type things. Again we've never done a waterpark before so they are beyond excited about the big water slides. And I have to do that fast running lazy river thing! Thanks!

Definitely be there for park opening. That's my biggest recommendation.

Be sure to hit the feature slide, Dolphin Plunge (where the slide takes you through the dolphin pool) first off. This is the slide that will get the longest line throughout the day.

Then, just to keep your walking to a minimum, I would do the Whanau Way and Omaka Rocka slides, then Tassie's Twisters, then Hoo Roo Run and Walhalla Wave, then the speed slides (Taumata Racer).

Roa's Rapids (the tubeless lazy river with the fabulous crazy current :thumbsup2), the dual wave pools, Loggerhead Lane (the regular lazy river with tubes) and Walkabout Waters (the interactive structure) are all good places to hang out when crowds pick up and lines at the slides are long.

We were there twice in August 2012 when the weather was hot and sunny (perfect waterpark days) and honestly, we didn't find we needed a real plan. The basic philosophy is slide as much as you can first, relax in the non-slide areas when crowds are heaviest mid-day and early afternoon, then go back to sliding later in the day when people who arrived at park opening start to pack up and go home.

Aquatica is a beautiful park....you and your family will love it!!

Thanks Gina! Got that all written down on an index card. Those are some crazy slide names!
