Which would a thrill seeking, ride lovin' teen :cool1: enjoy more - Aquatica or Wet n Wild? In looking at both parks web sites, it looks like Wet n Wild might have more thrill rides. I'm debating between the 2 for our upcoming trip & would love any thoughts that you might have. TIA!

I have never been to Aquatica but Wet & Wild would be great for teens, lots of great rides........this 46 year old teen loved them.

We're going to both on ur trip, but from what I can remember (our last trip was 6 years ago!) Wet 'n wild was really thrill seeking and best for teens, not been to Aquatica and it looks fun and better theming etc - but wet 'n wild has the biggest slides and stuff.

Thanks jpeppers & princessSmiles! Right now I'm leaning towards Wet n Wild for the rides & also because it seems like Aquatica can get rather crowded early on - we'll be there in June, so I'm guessing the crowds will be pretty heavy. DS saw the slide where the floor drops out from under you to start the ride & he is dying to go on that. Now if only I could find a good deal on a one day ticket.

We've been both places and Wet N' Wild is definitely geared to teenagers more than Aquatica. I found Aquatica to be cleaner and in a better location but it's also new.

My husband enjoyed the thrill rides at Wet N' Wild.

Thanks MinnieForMe! How were the crowds at Aquatia?

Hi:
We went to Aquatica the first week in May last year and it was very quiet. The only line was for the dolphin plunge and we waited until 10 minutes before closing and my son walked right on. To be honest, I was not impressed with Aquatica at all. It was clean and new. I expected a fantastic lazy river where I would see tons of fish (there were two fish tanks along the lazy river). My first choice is still Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon. My husband and son did not feel any ride at Aquatica could be termed as a "thrill" ride. They were fun but average.

I do remember a few "thrill" rides at Wet N' Wild but it's been a few year's since we've been back. I believe there was even water skiing at WetnWild but that might have cost extra.

Aquatica did have a fantastic pool for toddlers. My little one loved it!

Thanks Minnie! The info. you provided is very helpful. My kids are really into the thrill type rides, so from what you & others have said, it looks like we'll be heading to Wet n Wild.

Agree with all above - you definately want to be going to Wet and Wild. While I love my rollercoasters, I am NOT a thill seeker when it comes to water slides - I'm just not very confident in the water.

When I went to Aquatica last year, virtually every ride or chute I went on was fine by me and I had a blast. Whereas on my only previous visit to Wet and Wild, while there were some rides I could do, I had to chicken out of a whole load of other rides and slides as they were waaaaay too extreme for me!

But if you've got some adrenaline junkies in your party, I think they'll get bored with Aquatica pretty quickly.

Aquatica and Adventure Island, over in Tampa, try to make it a "family experience". Not too many big thrills. Haven't been to Wet & Wild so I can't compare. One thing that would make me forego the "bigger thrills" is the fact that Aquatica is only a year old and fairly neat and clean. At Aquatica you can rent a private cabana for the day (don't know if Wet & Wild has them). Granted it's not cheap but we've done it at Aquatica as well as over at Adventure Island and found it to be worth the money. They close up on all 4 sides when you want privacy (great for avoiding a crowded changing area if a storm pops up) or a nap, there's a fan inside, a fridge stocked with water bottles and or sodas, you can order lunch and have it brought to you cabana, there's small locker, you're away from the crowded "beach" areas and always have your own chairs when you want to relax. Have fun wherever you go!
