I know there was just a thread on this for Discovery Cove, but I was wondering if anyone has rented a cabana from Aquatica and was it worth it? I know it comes with bottle water, all day locker rental, and towels. It will be my dh, ds 8, ds almost 2, and me. I thought it would be nice to have shade to go back to.

We rented a cabana....It was fabulous having the quiet cool place to go to as needed.

We got a standard view cabana...which was fine for us. I had originally wanted a better view, but by the time i made up my mind, they were sold out. I kind of liked the quietness of the standard better, once I was there and saw where the better views were located.

It came with a fridge, a locker, another shelf area, 8 bottles of water, 4 towels, 2 loungers and another 2 chairs. We felt very safe having our belongings there. There is a worker that stands at the entrance, and keeps people who don't have a rental from entering the area.

Thank you for your response. You said you had a standard view, do you remember what your cabana was by? Do you remember where the non quite ones were located? Thank you

We were to the left of the wave pools.

There were cabanas between the two wave pools, ones with pool views and then standards were to the left and to the right.

Good luck, and have a great trip

Thank you for posting this questsion. I was just thinking about this. Great to see some information out there. My Mum is coming with us to the waterparks and she is not really a swimmer. In fact she is not a swimmer at all. It would be great to have a base that she can use.

I rented one for our upcoming trip in 3 weeks!! There seems to be a lot of loungers everywhere in the park, but few shaded ones which I think will be important to have in the Florida sun. If you are even thinking about reserving one, I would suggest to do it now rather than wait until closer to your trip time. The price does go up and also you risk them being all "sold out". I booked back in January/February (about 6 months out) and the price has actually gone up the closer to our trip date. You can cancel without penalty if you decide not to do it. You do have to pay in full at time of reservation though. I do plan to spend a full day there, so it wil definitely be worth it! I plan to do a review of the cabana when I get back, so check on the boards for it!

I'm looking forward to your review also although I think we will definitley go with it. Just need to decide which day we are going.

My wife is not a big water park fan while me and the two kids were looking to try Aquatica. I decided to rent the cabana which could keep everyone happy. In a nutshell, if you rent the cabana, you will not be disappointed. I am sure of it. The only question is do you want to spend the extra money. Are there chairs somewhere in the park to park your stuff and go back too? Yes. I was there July 5th and Aquatica was PACKED and I still noticed chairs untouched in remote areas. FYI, the lines to get on the slides that day were all 20-30 minutes long . Not Aquatica's fault, it was just a very busy day.

My wife did go on a few slides and spent some time in the wave pool but really enjoyed the cabana. As far as the cabana goes, it is in a secluded place and we did stay until 6pm which we wouldn't have done w/o it.

BTW, plan to diet that day, the food was weak. They actually ran out of Shamu ice cream pops. :confused3 Can you imagine the MK running out of Mickey pops?

Any questions, let me know.

Thank you for all the info! I am defiantly willing to pay extra just to have a shaded area to go back to. You said it was in a secluded area, well how secluded and was it far from everything? Thank you.

Missy,
The cabanas are right next to the wave pool. Close enough to walk to but if you're not facing the pool, very quiet where you can fall asleep.
The whole park is not that big.

Do yourself a favor and research what food you can bring in. I only say this because the fridge is big and food options are limited. At the bag check to get in the park, security stopped the lady in front of me because she had sandwichs in her bag. The poor lady had to throw them out. I know why they do this but come on, the food is poor and isn't security there to look for other things. If you find you can bring some food in, your cabana is a great place to hang out and eat. We took our burgers and chicken fingers back to the cabana and hung out. I did bring pretzels and chips that were not confiscated. Also, bring those ice tea packets that you add to water bottles, as you know, they do give you 12 bottles of very cold water.

Finally, here's someting cool to do (this sold me on the idea of the cabana). Go to Google maps and locate Aquatica. Take the little yellow man (I think they call it street view) and drag over the cabana area. Somebody actually took photos of the cabana area and you'll see where they are. Real sharp.

One last thing, I had my heart set on the cabana after researching it. It said on the website it would cost an additional $69 bucks. I thought, what the heck? When I brought my tix on line and clicked , add a cabana, the price was $199!!!!! I thought, I am insane to spend almost $200 to get in and another $200 for a stinky cabana . I think because it was 4th of July week, the premium was high. Obviously I took the plunge and gave Sea World $397 (my plan was to see Blue Man Group on the trip which I dropped). Don't do what I did, make sure you know the price before you get your hopes up.

Have fun
