Can you take your phone in a waterproof bag on a lanyard? My husband has dexcom and needs his phone. I saw the sign someone posted about the rules, wondering if anyone has taken it with them. Other suggestions??

People have posted videos of the AquaMouse (while riding it), so it stands to reason there is a way to bring your phone. I would guess having it in a waterproof pouch/lanyard would be the idea way, since then it can't be dropped along the way.

I haven't been on the AquaMouse though (yet!) so I can't comment on personal experience, so that's just my assumption/observation.

Not sure what the official rules say, but I definitely held my sunglasses. I think it would be fine to have the lanyard bag.

Not only was I not allowed to take mine in a case, the guy (I think his name was Renaldo) told me it was for 2 riders only and not solo riders. So needless to say I didn’t get to ride it. Huge bummer

Whaaaaaat?! I've never heard that (that Aquamouse is not for solo riders). In fact, on the website it says "single riders must be 54" or taller, indicating that solo/single riders are allowed.

I rode the Aqua Mouse solo in February; maybe it's a wind thing? On the Fantasy a few years ago, it was windy, and they would not allow solo riders on the Aqua Duck because you wouldn't have enough momentum to keep going through the open parts of the tube.

We saw several solo riders including a young man I'd say was probably mid-teens (and not a huge guy). No one seemed to have any issues with getting enough momentum. This was on a CC day and there were hardly any people riding it so maybe they considered the impact of someone not getting through to be minimal?

Yea I’ve seen YouTube videos of ppl not only with their phones but solo. I try to be very non confrontational so I let it go but we’re going again in May and I’m set on riding it.

First he said no phones so I went to put it in the cubby they have with my towel then I went back to get in line and he said it’s for 2 riders only. I’m 37, 5’4, 137lbs. So idk what his problem was.

I understand being non-confrontational, but I would hope at least if they say no again you can ask why, since the website clearly mentions single riders (and hopefully the attendant would be receptive to answering your question).

I'm going in April and really want to try it, but I'll be a single rider as well so hopefully they'll let me on!

Aside from the solo debate (hubs and I both rode solo last August, btw), I would just politely explain to the cast member why he needs to keep his phone with him. If he wears a swim shirt over it, that might be a good idea too because it would keep it even more secure. I would think it would be ok with the lanyard though. Mainly, they don't want people trying to hold onto things and dropping them somewhere during the ride.

I was just going to ask that. My daughter won't ride it and I want to!

I can’t speak directly to the AquaMouse but suspect it is similar to the AquaDuck - and depending on wind conditions they do limit that to 2-riders at times.

OP - I suggest your DH put his phone in a waterproof lanyard or such, and then tuck it into a rashguard shirt or a pocket on his swim trunks. My husband’s trunks have Velcro pockets and he can keep his phone with him and safe by closing the Velcro.

If they won’t let solo riders on, look for another disappointed person and team up, make a new friend! The first time I rode the Aqua Duck, I rode with a girl who was in line ahead of me. Her dad and little brother rode right before us, so she wasn’t separated from them for more than a couple of minutes. She might have felt uncomfortable riding with a man, but she seemed okay with me, a middle aged woman.

Not with that seating arrangement I won't. If it were side by side, perhaps. But I don't want to be sitting between a stranger's legs or have a stranger sitting between mine.

If they're in a "no solo riders" period, they need to have a CM at the end of the line telling people that so that people don't get to the loading point only to be disappointed.

I can’t comment on the phone issue but my 9 year old son always rode by himself while I rode with his 6 year old sister. I saw other single riders too and this was a few weeks ago.

I rode solo twice in January so like pp have said it could of been a wind thing
