Do they make children take off their water shoes to be measured for the Aquaduck?

We had to remove our shoes before getting in line.

Yes. You cannot wear shoes on the ride. Sometimes they make you take them off before lining up (they have cubbies) and sometimes they let you keep them on in line but you have to remove them and hold them during the ride. They are SUPER strict on the height limit too.

I wonder if that is new. We have been able to wear our water shoes (tight fitting with straps) every time we road on both cruises we went on last year.

To some degree it will depend on the CM. They are not all that consistent and if one makes you do it one way, you might try again later.

My son has trouble riding the Mickey slide depending on who the CM was. Most let him ride, but one went so far as to try and squeeze a credit card(or room key) between the height sign and my son's head and said he wasn't tall enough.
