Knowing a little info about AP's,could somebody tell me

A-where is the best place to buy them?.

B- does your date start from when you purchase them,or when you activate them at the park??

What advantages do they have apart from, free parking, multiple visits, discounts on goods/food?.

This page should answer your questions in detail.

In summary, you can buy them at any ticket window at the theme parks (as easy as buying any other ticket, although you will need photo ID) or you can order them in advance (online, phone or via Disney Stores in the US). If you order them in advance you will receive a voucher which you must excahneg for the actual ticket at a ticket window at the parks.

They start the date you first use them.

If you stay on-site the best thing about annual passes is that your are eligible for any AP discounted rates which are available. These can be significant reductions from rack rates (40 or 50%), and for us have been the only way we could afford to stay at Animal Kingdom Lodge.

Thanks Rob, we wont be staying onsite for the 2 times that we can actually use the AP's,but hopefully once I renew them in 2006,we could take advantage and stay onsite.

Will you be getting Universal annual passes? I think these are very good value for money, and I think they are currently offering an amazing offer where you buy a one-year annual pass and get two year's worth of entry.

If you buy APs at the gate, you can get a 5% discount using your Disney Club card - we did this in May. You can also get the discount if you buy in advance by phone (although not online), but it's trickier because you need to rely on getting a CM who knows what they're doing.

Jules

We ordered ours by phone and got the DC discount. We used them to get 2nd round of mini golf at Fantasia half price :D

Uk Deb, we dont have a disney club card(how do we get one?)

Rob, oh yes we are going for the universal/IOA ap's, i think though to get the deal they are doing at present they have to be purchased/or activated before october am I right??

I think we will be buying our disney AP's via post,do they not do it via the web??,and what goodies in the way of literature do you get with them once they come??

Cheers

When we got our APs in the post they came via DHL in a plain envelope. The pass vouchers (illuminous green!) were stuck to a sheet of letter size paper.
We got nothing else with them - no goodies - nothing :(
Quite a let down really :)

I believe you get some booklets/leaflets when you activate the passes at WDW guest relation though.

I think the Disney Club has now been replaced by a Disney credit card loyalty programme (?), so only those people who have Disney Club cards which have not yet expired will get DC discount. Unfortunately the Disney Visa programme is only available if you live in the US.

Jules, I'm not sure about the Universal offer, but I think there was a thread on the Universal Planning board recently.
