Hi. I was hoping that someone might help me out with some info. After a 2 year break, my brother and I decided to get SoCal Select APs again. When we had them before, I would take a day off from substitute teaching, and we would drive down on a weekday. We would go about 1 day a month except for summer. But this year, I was thinking that it would be better to get Deluxe APs (Premium for me since I add parking anyway) and go on Saturdays instead. That way I wouldn't have to take any days off from subbing (I wouldn't lose income) and we could go during the summer too.

The only thing I'm concerned about are the crowds on Saturdays. The weekdays were usually pretty good as long as school wasn't on break, and if you avoided holidays. On the other hand, I've heard that Saturdays are good since all of the SoCal APs are blocked out. So now I'm not sure which would be the best way to go based on crowd sizes.

So, basically, can any folks chime in and give me their current experiences with crowds on the weekdays vs. Saturdays? I'd really appreciate your input. Thanks!

I honestly think you have to wait a few more months to get a sense of how the suspension of the SoCal APs affect the Saturday crowds. The suspension went into effect just before the summer season kicked off, so we don't really know what kind of crowds to expect on Saturday versus Sunday during the "lower" season.

Prior to the suspension, Sundays were fairly crowded in the parks, especially starting around mid-morning. Saturdays were also busy, but from earlier in the morning. I felt that both days were busy, but Sunday afternoon was probably modestly busier than Saturday afternoon, whereas Saturday mornings were busier than Sunday mornings.

I've used my PAP in the parks on eight days this summer. I've found Thursday and Friday to be the most crowded. Last Saturday was surprisingly manageable in both parks. We did all of the major attractions at DL between 10am and 2pm. Also hit RSR, and all of the major attractions at DCA between 3 & 6 pm. This confirms what others have said about Saturdays being relatively light this summer. If you can swing it, is absolutely go with the PAP.
