AP's Out Through March 6th

I called yesterday & got the AP rate for our trip (2/22-3/1) at the Wilderness Lodge.

I was not as thrilled with the rate as I remember being last year. Seems like the pass saved me a lot more last year.

I think we will be letting our passes expire this year. We will not begoing back to Disney next year :sad1: :scared:. But that is because we are planning on having another baby (hopefully) next summer. So we wil go back in 2010 & get the passes again then.

Are you a Florida resident? I've only seen Florida residents get this code, except one person from NY. What rate did you get for Pop and what are your dates.

:) It was just the passholder email that came through. If you have (or plan to have) an annual pass, then you might be able to get this rate. Disney does set aside a certain number of rooms for each promotion which is why I called a soon as I saw the email.

I hardly remember a time when the boards have been so quiet on the day an AP rate is released. In the past there would be tons of posts and lots of excitment and I read first thing this morning about the release and still, just a handful of folks taking advantage of this. It was on intercot first thing when I logged in this AM, and also on mousesavers too. I guess it's not the rate or time everyone is waiting for.

They are just not as low was they used to be. These rates will say some who already have trips planned a few bucks but they are not good enough to spark people to book last minute trips.

Here is my take on things: The rates for 2008 are definitely higher, the discounts are lower, and as long as people are willing to play the higher rates nothing will change. If lots of rooms were left empty because people weren't booking the discounts would be much larger. Just think about how cheap the rooms were after 9/11 because people weren't traveling. Now that we are, we are paying more. We will be staying off property more this year because even with an AP the rates are just too darn high!

. . . For March 2-6, rate went from 485 to 379. .
Thank you for the Poly. AP information. We're going in May, which I know isn't peak, but here's hoping for a similar AP discount percentage (379/485 = 78% of rack rate). Guess we're going to have to wait a bit if March AP rates only just came out. :wizard:
