I'm taking my daughter to Disney in June and I'm going to get an annual pass while I'm there or before. If I want to book a room with the new code that was released, do I order the pass before? tell them I'm going to get one and pick it up before I check in? or what???

officially, you're supposed to have a fully activated AP when you check in.

unofficially, I've never been asked for one. although others have.

you can book an AP rate without one though. they don't care when you get it, it's up to the resort to enforce it.

I can't even remember how many times I've booked on an AP discount when my AP was expired. When we get there, we'd go to DTD or the TTC (on the way to the hotel) and get them before we go to the hotel for fear of being asked at the desk at check-in. Never even happened. Not once.

DVC now so it doesn't matter anymore but I'd be surprised if anybody even asks to see it. I've about concluded that the counter folks think the phone reservation people check and the phone bank folks think the counter personnel at the hotels check and in turn, nobody checks. ;)

Ok. I had booked a AAA rate room at the end of June earlier today and just called back to have it switched to the AP rate. The room $76 cheaper per day. :cool1: That's worth the price of the annual pass.
