It's been a busy couple of days here with not much computer time, so when I went to the march thread, I thought, oh, good, it's been quiet, I'll be able to catch up easily. Whoops, new thread each month.
I finished wk 5 of C25K today which was a 20 minute run!!! I am so excited to have done that. I ran 1.5 miles in 22 minutes, which gives me a 15 minute mile!!! I've been modifying the running sessions this week, and doing a little extra time, to get a little more distance, kind of meeting the time and distance in the middle of the program if you will. I think I'll continue that, and after next week it seem like it's all longer runs with increasing time and distance, so I think I might even be up to the 3 miles by the end, but it will take me longer.
My future goals- My short term goal is to get through the next 3 months at or below the weight I am now, and then really focus more on diet and try to lose some more. I am really focused on the running right now, and that is helping me immensely. I lost my mom last june, and the memories of last spring are beginning to come back to me, and I do not want to eat through those emotions again, and pack on another 15 pounds. I also have the goal to run my first 5K, and am going to look into one for early in the summer. A cousin of mine organizes a 5K in october, so I'm going to run that too. I'm planning a surprise disney trip for my son at the end of august too. I always find disney planning such a boost. I am planning to take a disney cruise for my 50th birthday in feb 2014. This summer, I will have that yard sale I've been talking about the past 4 summers and clean out that basement.
Lisa and Dona- you both amaze me with school and taking classes. I don't think I could do it. Lisa, who knows, maybe you'll find a way to merge the two careers. You are very creative. Maybe mediation for couples who don't share the same nutritional values. I like your description of DVC too. I always stay value, and go at least once a year lately. I had heard that if you are used to staying deluxe, that dvc would work for you. I always price out the deluxe packages when I'm planning, but end up staying value. One day, but I'm afraid I won't go back to value once I've stayed deluxe.
jess- Good for you for getting out and running after your dinner. That's hard to do on a friday night especially where you have little ones.
Susie- We'd love to see you on the biggest loser thread. It's been a great challenge with lots of support and inspiration over there. Never too late to join.
Dona- it's nice to hear you're bringing some things to dinner, but you aren't making the entire meal and packing it up to go to the inlaws this holiday.
This morning we drove to the park so I could do my run, and my son sat in the car and played and read. It's a 1/3 mile track, so I ran past him 4 times, and every time he saw me coming, H'd open the door and jump out and cheer me on, "you can do it, Yaay" It was so cute, and helped keep me going.
Hope everyone has a nice weekend.
I love these quotes, especially the Dead last finish beats did not finish which trumps did not start. I have a fear of being swept next year when I do the princess. Notice I said when I do it, not if I do it. The power of positive thinking. I was also thinking I need to get my speed up enough so that I will be able to have some time during the race to take pics with any characters."In running, it doesn't matter whether you come in first, in the middle of the pack, or last. You can say, 'I have finished.' There is a lot of satisfaction in that."

Always remember the WISH motto: Dead last finish beats did not finish which always trumps did not start. WISH gave me the courage to start.
