I'm looking into April 2007 at an All Star Resort and then getting a 5 day pass. What are the crowds like? Weather? Prices?

Think 'Spam in a can', baby! It's gonna be packed. :crowded: Spring Break (Easter break) ya'know.

That said, if you're ready for it you can still have fun. The weather is usually good (unless it rains a lot, which it sometimes does in April), the rides are usually open (unless they aren't, which they sometimes aren't) and the best thing is, the parks are usually open late.

April is, quite honestly, usually pretty busy. But we like to call it 'Festive' and go anyway. :teeth:

Is that true for ALL of April? We're scheduled to go at the beginning of the month this year...

I think it depends on WHEN in April you go. We went in the last week of April 2004. While we were far from alone, we never felt like the crowds were overwhelming. I'd call it moderate. With a touring plan and intelligent use of fastpass, we never waited longer than 10 minutes for any ride. Granted, b/c my kids were so young, we were not riding many of the "biggies" like space mtn, tower of terror, etc. so I can't speak to the lines for those rides. But I wouldn't hesitate to go again in late April. The weather was beautiful and we only had 1/2 day of rain. Hope this helps.

Part of the problem this year is, Easter is late (April 16). I think most of April is going to be busy, obviously with the exception of a few days here and there at the beginning and the end of the month. Otherwise, Easter is the second busiest time of the year.

If you have the choice, May is a better option, IMO.

I researched this quite a bit since we're getting married down there:)!!!! They show least amount of rain in April. The week before and week of Easter is most crowded because of Easter/spring break but they show a good time to go is last week of April...so we're going April 25-May 6!!! The resorts are back to the reg. rate and less crowds. :woohoo:

Great...I'd actually probably go closer to the end of April/beginning of May, so that sounds perfect!!!

We went the last week of April last year and it was packed to the gills!!

The year before last we went around the same time and it wasn't that bad. I think more ppl get various weeks of April off for spring break now. Now we're planning our vacation for the first week of May. :woohoo:

Yes, it is crowded, but it is completely bearable. Don't let crowds deter you! I only travel during times when there is school break ( I teach high school) and not once have I not enjoyed my time in WDW. No matter the crowds, it is still the happiest place on Earth.

We always go the last week of April due to our school vaca (nh). We went
in 2004 & it wasn't that bad. Take advantage of EMH in the AM before it gets crowded then go back to the resort to rest then another park in the PM. We always get the hopper tickets for this reason. :thumbsup2

We are also from NH and the last week of April has been our week to go to WDW for the past couple of years. The weather is perfect (high 70's, low 80's with very little humidity or rain) and the crowds are very bearable. The key (as someone else said) is to have some type of plan - get to the parks early, use Fastpass, etc. We have used advice from the Unofficial Guide before and it has worked very well. We never wait more than 20 minutes for a ride and usually can get on anything with less than 10 minutes wait. Of course, with Fastpass the wait is minimal anyway. We love the evening Extra Magic Hours at MK - last year we found that after midnight the crowds really cleared away and we had Big Thunder and Splash Mtn all to ourselves (earlier in the day the waits were 90 minutes). We also have park hopper tickets so that if we find that MK (for example) gets too busy, we can just hop somewhere else.

Enjoy your planning and maybe we'll see you at the end of April this year! :smickey:

April is my favorite time to go to the world......least amount of rain/month for the year...I ALWAYS wait until 10 days after Easter to go...crowds are much more manageable. The weather is awesome....mid-80's, which is great if you're coming from NW pennsylvania where we're barely out of winter.
