As is tradition, we've been back from a recent Disney vacation for a few weeks and have started discussing plans for another one next year. We're considering a longer trip this time, so we can check out San Francisco and allow our daughters to adjust a little better to the time switch from the east coast. We're looking at 4/11 through 4/21 (our anniversary falls on the 20th).

Just curious as to whether it might be better to put Anaheim at the beginning or end of this trip. Easter is April 12, but I'm not sure when Spring Break is or how it may affect crowds. It looks like Dapper Days overlap a little bit at the end too.

I'm sure we can plan on the weather being gorgeous, but if anyone has any suggestions about what to expect otherwise it would be appreciated!

Thanks!!!

There really isn't a specific "Spring Break" week; most schools out here have a break sometime between mid-March and mid-April. LAUSD is out the week leading into Easter and that corresponds with the SoCal & SoCal Select AP blockout period. Easter itself is a little hit or miss, but given that it ties into LAUSD's spring break, my guess is the weekend will probably be busy(ish). The biggest benefit to going during "Spring Break Season" is that the operating hours tend to be long and there is usually more nighttime entertainment. During the non-peak periods, hours are shorter and less entertainment is offered on the weekdays (weekends tend to still have a good amount of offerings).

Dapper Days does bring in a crowd, but it's actually a lot of fun to see the guests dressed up in their dapper attire. I didn't find that the crowds were that bad and they didn't necessarily translate to long attraction waits (I think a lot of guests coming for Dapper Days are coming to be seen and take photos opposed to ride as many rides as possible).

If it were me, I’d pick the end of your trip during Dapper Days instead of Easter weekend. I’ve heard Dapper Days are a lot of fun! We will be there March 30-April 3; we’re hoping to squeeze in between the spring breaks occurring from March 16-27, and the Easter breaks from April 6-17.

Thank you for the info. We were definitely leaning towards Disney at the end.

Still waiting on the green light to start booking anyway. If the light's green enough, then we may even spend our anniversary at the Grand Californian. We had to pick our daughter's jaw up off the floor last month when we pointed out the DCA entrance as we walked by.
