I called Universal last week and they said that the April information would be available in the middle of August or the beginning of September. We are also looking to go April 2012 for our first trip and to stay onsite and I am curious as to the best way to get the best rate. Book early, use DU or a travel agent (is that even possible for onsite?), buy an AP, other thoughts?

Just talked to a reservations agent - she said to check the end of August for the discounts and they should be loaded. Hope so, this is really pricey . Guess that's what I get for going during Spring Break !

Yep, I think our last trip I changed rate like 3 times! I would check every couple of weeks. It may not be necessary to check that often but I love planning lol.
I'm new to Universal. Where is the best place to watch for discounts, just keep trolling the resorts board or call them every so often?
The rates she gave me when I called were better than what I saw online. My friend called after I did and was quoted the higher price, but told her what I was told and she said "oh, you want the stay longer, save more deal".
