We are going on our First Disney Trip in April, and I have been planning pretty much all of it. I am so excited and want to do so much, but am afraid I have over-planned. I subscribed to Ridemax, so I am hoping that will help us to see/do most of what we really want to. Do you think this itinerary is too much? And what do you suggest for meals, cause I don't have any plans for that at all.

Sunday:
Fly out at ten am and get to Orlando at 1pm
We are staying off location at the Sheraton Vistana (free timeshare for us)
I don't have anything planned for this night, because I am not sure how tired the boys will be. I figured we could just relax by the pool and get a good nights sleep. Plus we will be hitting a grocery store as well since we will have a full kitchen.

Monday:
MK at RD. DH wants to stay all the way through until Wishes that night.

Tuesday:
AK at RD. Stay until we have seen everything we want to, which is quite a bit and I wanted to try Flame tree for lunch I think.
We had pondered doing a character breakfast at Tuskerhouse before the park opens but I just don't want to have exhausted cranky kids (and husband :rotfl:).
Since AK closes early I thought that would be a good time to relax by the pool @ resort..

Wednesday:
My kids are really excited about the water parks. How long do you normally stay at the water parks?
The plan is to sleep in a bit (if needed) and then go to BB and then maybe DQ in the evening.

Thursday:
DHS with Fantasmic that night.

Friday:
TL and DTD in the evening

Saturday:
Epcot and WS (this is what I am excited for) and finish off our trip with Illuminations. I also thought it would be fun to go over to the Beaches and Cream for the Kitchen Sink. It is our last day after all.:rolleyes1

Sunday:
Pool at the resort in the am and then fly home in the afternoon.

We are not buying the Park hopper, but we are buying the Waterparks and more option.
As you can see I have not planned any ADRs, partly because I can't choose what would be best, and because I didn't want to be tied down to certain time frames. Do you think that it is a mistake to only do CS? Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday we should be able to eat a big meal (dinner) at the resort.
Any suggestions on dining or schedule or pretty much anything would help out. My biggest concern is not that we see and do everything, but that everyone has a great time, is relaxed and comfortable and experiences the magic.

it sounds wonderful, i don't think you can over plan (i'm already planning and have booked my trip for April 2011!!) and as you say you just want to have fun. can't offer any advice because it's such a loing time since i've been but wanted to say have a fantastic time xx

i dont think youve over planned at all- i do think youve prepared yourself very well for your first trip. which is essential really. when dh and i started going i had the benfit of being a few times as a child- not that i helped plan back then, but i knew the lay of the land so to speak. however i had only been to mk, and not the others. but without kids its much easier to go with the flow.

beware your late day and trip for your kitchen sink. we planned it for our off day(ie pool and dtd) but by the time we got done at dtd we never had time to make it there....a must for our upcoming april trip!

Thanks both of you for the reassurance. I just want this to be such a great time and magical for all of us, since its our first real "out of country" vacation and at to Disney at that.

And thanks for the well wishes, I am sooooo excited!:woohoo:

So you think not having ADR's is alright, and we won't be missing out on too much if we just CS it?

In April you should try walking up to a TS. My only suggestion would be to break up you trip in the middle somewhere with a day off. 2 days in a row at the parks can get very tiring. Maybe only go to one water park and take a day off in the middle of your trip. Believe me, youll need the extra days rest to build up your energy again. Other than that sounds like you'll have a great time!! :thumbsup2

BTW we'll be there in Aptil too, from the 22nd-27th :thumbsup2

well it depends on how your kids are for eating. mine are fussy and need set times. if i go past 530 in ns they wont eat. : S but you may still be able to snag some if you want. our ta grabbed crt for dd just last month, well after not only the 180 days- last fall- but at my 88 dayish mark. i've never done walk up to restaurants- oh wai ti have once at tonys town square back in 05? before adr's were as nutso as they are now.

if you go without, just move around your meals a bit- eat a bit earlier- restaurants start serving at 1130 for lunch i believe, and i think it depends for dinner where you are. so if you eat at an off time, you'll have more luck getting in.

we did the planned meals last time for the character experiences for our kids. i'll admit cp for me to see winnie. lol but if your kids arent into that, then dont worry about it.

just remember you are at the world- it will be sticky hot- probably and some melt downs are inevitable. we lucked out and only had three i think the whole week. enjoy~
