April or May??

Hi Everyone,
We just learned that we have to move our trip planned for the week of May 1, 2006 because it conflicts with our daughter's first communion ceremony. Has anyone been to WDW during the last week of April? Although this is listed as a less crowded time I'm wondering if there will be spill over from the spring break/college crowd. We can't decide between the week of April 23rd or May 14th (Easter is April 16th). Any advice from will help. Thanks!!

Hi and welcome to the DIS!

There's not much difference between the last week of April and the middle of May. College crowds are there in March...most colleges are finishing classes by early May. As long as you go after Easter week you should avoid most of the people!

We went the last week of April this year and the temps/weather were wonderful but the crowds were large. I believe this was because Passover fell over this week and many schools (notably NYC) had spring break this week. The UG predicted crowd levels went from 3s to actual 7s and 8s. I live in the Midwest and spring breaks are usually around Easter. April is a beautiful month weather-wise, but check the calendar for holidays! I've also been (without kids) in mid-May and the crowds were fairly low and the temps were bearable.

Easter Sunday is April 16, 2006. You should be fine with the last week in April. ENJOY!
