April or May

May would be better, April is very busy because of spring break crowds.

We've done both, and it really just depends on when Easter is. Try to avoid going the week before or after Easter. With Easter being early in 2012 for example, it's going to be busy late Marh early April, but by the middle it will be fine.:thumbsup2

which month will be best for a first trip ?

This year our Honeymoon was in May and we got bigger lines than in 2010 September (our first trip to the World) but completely manageable with the big exception of the StarWars weekends >.< We did DHS just once for this event and OMG it was really unbeliaveble! Sooo much people!
So if you can choose between April or May, go in May!:idea:
April 2012 we'll go to Orlando (without doing WDW this time :guilty: it was a spur of the moment temptation so we cannot make this trip too expensive) and we'll see how huge the Spring and Easter crowds will be *wish us luck!*
best regards;
Miriade

May! Nice weather, crowds are not bad, if you can go before most schools are out. We always go in May.

We usually go in April..3rd week... but we switched to January this year!

April you have to watch for Easter and the World Dance/Cheer Championships!

The past few years April has been BUSY!!!!
Weather is awesome though!

Easter is early April. What are your thoughts on the crowds in late April? Is all of April terribly crowded?

We usually go in April over the week of our sons birthday which is April 19th. It is crowded. That is why we are trying January this year.
You need to check out what Disney events are going on as well.. ie: World Cheer / Dance championships...etc...

Both months can be crowded, but if you are sensitive to the heat then go in April. The days are already warm by the first of MAY.

We were there in May at the end of the month and loved it! I am sensitive to the heat and I did fine. I only melted down once and that was in Animal Kingdom, which seems to be the trend with my mother and I. We haven't made it through AK yet without trying to kill each other. Next year if she messes with me I'm throwing her over the side on Kali :confused3:rotfl:...Anyway! It rained only one time and it was an evening downpour that lasted barely an hour. Cleared EPCOT right out! From what I understand, April is one of the busiest times of year to go, which is why there aren't a lot of discounts at that time. If I remember correctly there was a huge conference at CSR that month that helped the crowds increase. I can't remember for sure. I remember being nervous b/c they weren't letting people use the pool at CSR b/c it was only being used by the people at the conference. Instead they handed out passes to the water parks. I may be wrong about the month though. I just know it was close to my trip. I will totally go in May again. It was wonderful. Like I said in a previous post on a thread about the same thing, the only issue we had with crowds was on Memorial day weekend which was also Star Wars Weekends at Hollywood Studios. That was a mess. However, we only waited for a ride once for 40 minutes in our whole 11 day trip. We never waited any other time b/c the crowds were much lower than our 2010 trip, and we utilized the fastpass system per my disboard research. My family all say it was a wonderful trip (planned exclusively by me...:goodvibes)! Well, I guess it was wonderful if you don't count my mom trying to kill me at Animal Kingdom :rolleyes1...
