Up early today and off to get the bus to be at MGM for park opening. As soon as we got in we went where everyone else went….Rock N Roller Coaster!! Of course I would be sitting this one out on this trip so as DH headed off I went and collected him fass passes for Tower of Terror and one for a second trip on Rock N Roller Coaster. I wondered through the exit of R n R and had a good look around the shop before settling by the photo area waiting to spot Alan . Eventually after what seemed like ages but probably wasn’t Alan comes off the ride. I think he really enjoyed it but missed me LOL.

We headed off to Tower of Terror for Alan to use his first fass pass, This is my favourite ride ever and I was disappointed not being able to take part this year. Again I wondered down to the exit and had a good nosey in the shop and then wondered through to watch for Alan coming off near the photo area. This was a lovely place to sit in the cool and people watch, although I was very jealous seeing them come off the ride so excited. Alan comes off and he has enjoyed his ride, he says he even didn’t hold on in honour of me ( I always wave my hands in the air!) Another good picture but didn’t really want to buy a picture of just Alan and a lot of strangers. We moved back over to RnR for Alan last go on this day. Same procedure as last time although I have already spent ages looking around the shop!

We wondered over to ‘Starring Rolls’ to pick up a spot of breakfast. I think we got some OJ and Pain au chocolate yum!

We then visited the Animation Tour and saw The Incredible’s posing for pictures at the end. Next up was the Voyage of the Little Mermaid the last time we did this was in 2000, so it was nice to see it again. After this we headed back to the bus and back to Wilderness Lodge.

I was feeling a little tried at this stage so whilst I had a nap Alan went for a walk in the grounds. I think he tried following a path to Fort Wilderness. Once he came back and woke me up we changed and got ready to head out to the Grand Floridian where we were having Afternoon Tea at the Garden View Lounge. This is something I have been wanting to do for a couple of trips but we had never got around to it for one reason or another.

We caught the boat over to the Magic Kingdom from the lodge and then we got the monorail around to the Grand Floridian. We walked around the grounds here and sat on the hammock on the beach looking out at the Wedding Pavillion and the Polynesian Resort. Time had come for our Afternoon Tea and we headed inside the main building and into the lounge. We were seated looking out at the grounds and we had to pick which tea we wanted. Alan picked Buckingham Palace which consisted of traditional tea sandwiches, scones and jam tarts complimented by fresh strawberries and cream, or a selection of freshly baked pastries, along with your choice of tea. I had Sally Lunn Tea – which on this occasion consisted of Scones followed by a choice of either trifle or strawberries and cream, along with your choice of tea. We both had Garden View tea, which was rather nice.

After being completely full from our afternoon tea we then caught the monorail around to the Magic Kingdom as it was Extra Magic Hours this evening. Now as soon as we enter the MK our routine is always the same. Alan wants to go on Buzz Lightyear’s Space Rangers Spin! His favourite ride ever!! We had a spin on here and then got some fass passes for later. We really wanted to try Stitches Great Escape but the queue was huge and there were no fass passes being distributed, so unfortunately we had to leave this for another day.

We then headed into Fantasyland and did Winnie the Pooh, Mickey’s Philharmagic and the recently refurbished It’s a Small World.

We settled down in Frontierland in our usual place to watch Spectro and then walked a bit further down to Liberty Square to watch Wishes. Obviously you don’t get the view of the castle when watching Wishes from hear but it is a lovely uncrowded area and people didn’t seem to mind me singing along LOL. We strolled back through Fantasyland and in to Tommorrowland to get a late night snack in Cosmic Ray’s before heading out and back to the lodge.

Another great day ~ We loved the Afternoon Tea :thumbsup2

Perfect day. Shame you could not do you favourites but there is always next time :goodvibes

I bet you will be really glad to go on all your favourite rides again this year Kaylee.

Great day at MGM and MK - you didn't miss much as far as Stitch is concerned but I guess you found that out for yourself :rotfl:

That tea sounds like something I would love and DH would be bored with :lmao: have to wait for DD to appreciate it I think,
Claire xx

Another great day.Afternoon Tea at the GF is lovely we had it on our 1st trip the Strawberrys and Cream are yummy

We havnt seen Spectro at WDW yet, only at DLP.Looking forward to watching this on our next trip. FT.Land a good viewing place then! :thumbsup2

Kaylee,
Your reports are a treat to read.
I echo your endorsement of alternate viewing places for Spectro and Wishes. I like Frontierland myself and for the reasons you mentioned. I do understand the attraction to standing on Main Street with the castle centered for the fireworks, but usually there are so many park visitors crammed into that area--and sometimes with an insufficent number of CMs to control the crowd--that the fun can be spoiled. The only time I've ever been frightened in nine trips to WDW was when we were caught in the crush of that Main Street/fireworks crowd. It wasn't just uncomfortable, it was dangerous.
The photo of Alan in the swing on the beach should be in the dictionary under the word "relaxed."

Afternoon tea sounds just so civilised and British!

Guess you'll be babyswapping a lot next trip ;)
