I hadn't checked for a few days, and now the April schedule has been posted!! We will be at DLR either Wed. 4/18-Fri. 4/20 or Thurs-Sat of that week. I was very excited to see the Electrical Parade on the schedule for the Friday night since I thought it wouldn't be happening at all.

My dilemma is that there are 4 different scheduled activities on Friday that won't happen the other days we are at the parks. Fireworks, the Electrical Parade, HS Musical Pep Rally, and the Block Party Bash. I'm concerned that this is too much to plan around on one day, especially the fireworks/Electrical parade. Would we get a good view of the fireworks from CA? Would we miss out on anything besides seeing Tinkerbell? If we tried to switch parks, would there be time to get from the parade which starts at 8:45 to the 9:25 fireworks?

I had planned Wed-Fri to avoid the busier park on Saturday and also so that we could arrive home with a day lag before jumping right back into school, but Thurs - Sat is an option if we will have an easier time enjoying all the offerings.

I don't see Turtle Talk on the schedule. Is this a scheduled activity and thus isn't happening then, or does it just keep repeating after each performance?

Thanks for any and all help you can give me!

You are going to have a very very hard time getting from DCA after the parade to DL for the fireworks. Pretty much everyone in the park watching the parade will be doing the same thing. There is going to be a huge line at the DL park entrance. If you do manage to get to DL in time for the fireworks you are going to have a very hard time making it up a crowded main street and all the good spots to view the castle will be full. You will most likely be watching the fireworks from the very end up main street over a whole bunch of heads.

Saturday will be more crowded but I would go then. The fireworks might get cancelled on Friday night because of weather it would be good to have a possible second chance to view them if needed.

Turtle talk is never on the schedule it repeats throughout the day! Kinda like the muppets and bugs life shows.

If you watch the ELP near the beginning of the parade, around the Paradise Pier area and hightail it to DL, you can make it in before the fireworks start, but you do have to move fast. And yes, you'd miss a lot by not being in DL. They don't play the music in DCA or the Esplanade, and to me, the music is most of what makes the show. You might want to try getting a standing spot on the train station for the fireworks. It's a great view of the fireworks themselves, and you can see Tink pretty well. It's just harder to see the caslte projections.

FWIW, DLR has purposely chosen the timing and direction of the DEP at DCA to make it nearly impossible to make it into DL to see the fireworks. This was done for crowd control reasons.

Also FWIW, if you have not seen the DL fireworks yet, that is easily 10 times better than the DEP at DCA and should be the first priority IMO.

Thank you so much for the feedback. I'm really leaning toward a Thurs - Sat visit now, even thought it isn't as ideal logistically. It was mentioned previously that DL closes early on Sunday the 22nd which might lead to larger crowds on Sat. the 21st. In general, how much more crowded is a Sat that time of year (just after spring break) than a Friday? Any idea wrt typical wait times?

It is the DLR website, and they are not posted yet for that time. Probably will not be for 1-2 more months.
