April crowds

Hi, What are the crowds like in April? We have never been at this time and we are thinking of going 2nd-3rd week.

It depends on when Easter falls. The week after Easter is very crowded, almost Christmas-week levels. The week before Easter is also crowded. Outside of those weeks, April crowds are moderate (4-6 crowd level).

PP is right on the money, depends on when Easter falls. If you are clear of Easter, crowds are generally in the 5-6 range and the weather is tremendous. Was just there the 3rd week of April this year, had an amazing time. Not TOO hot but very nice, a little bit of rain but not a ton... it was our first April down there in a long time and we really loved that week.

Happy to hear this. Easter is 3/27 and we are going 4/16-4/24

yes april is a great time to go weather wise I go the last week of april to celebrate my birthday last year and I already have another trip for this coming year

We are going the first week of April, checking in on Saturday the 2nd. I looked at crowd levels and it looks like that Saturday and Sunday will be slammed as people finish up their Easter week and then picks back up that next weekend. I think April will be great, and last time we were there in April, the weather was perfect!

Fyi for April. Star Wars race weekend is the 14th - 17th. I think there will be around 30,000 runners. We usually don't impact the parks that much but there will be road closures early in the morning that weekend. Just a heads up.

We typically go during April. It can and will be crowded. But, if you go in with reasonable expectations and even half of a plan and a decent patience, you'll be fine. The crowds really aren't all that bad if you adjust your expectations.

The middle to end of April (when that falls after Easter) is one of my favorite times to go. Weather is usually great and the crowds are fine.

One thing of which to be aware is that much of New England (particularly Boston) bases their Spring Break not on Easter but on Patriots Day, which is April 18. So a lot of that area is out of school around the 18th - Spring Break for them is probably that third week of April. It won't make the parks packed, but the third week might be busier than the second and fourth weeks.

Yes, our spring breaks in TN are *not* in conjunction with Easter.

As PPers have noted, April IS crowded, but the weather is gorgeous. Utilize Rope Drop, plan a midday break and you will be fine.
