April 8th, 2012: WONDERful Mexican Riviera!

Hola, :cool1:

We booked this cruise in Feb, it seemed so far away.
We are: Dave, wife Andrea, son Bryce 16yo. Our first Disney cruise was Nov 2010 eastern carribean. So we are excited to cruise as CC members. What can I look forward to as a CC member?

We are also traveling with my friend Steve and his wife Sandy. This is there first cruise ever.

For those who have been to MR before can you recommend any shore excursions?
Is ther a castaway cay type place?

And I am hearing roumors about the alcohol policy changing any word out there?

Jetskigirl - Happy to hear that you had a great time! Hope it continues on your next DCL trip (in a few days)!:thumbsup2

DCW - Welcome aboard! Always happy to see someone else starting to get excited!
:welcome:
You'll find many helpful posts on this page (especially as we get closer to cruising) as well as on the main page. Unfortunately there is no CC in the MR. As for excursions, I've heard that the zip lines in PV are great!

Also....got my recorded message from DCL today letting us know that Mazatlan has been removed from our itinerary. Replaced with (drum roll...) a second day in Cabo!!!
Nope, no surprise there.

We got the phone call and the email about the 2 days in Cabo, very cool. Does the ship just stay in Cabo, or does it cruise around for the night and then return to Cabo?

The ship leaves Cabo for the night, returning early the 2nd day. If I'm remembering correctly...the night that we spent off of Cabo was Pirate Night!pirate:

Welcome to the group!!! This will be our 4th cruise but we just started cruising this year so we are still kind of newbies ourselves. We did the 2-night Cruise to Nowhere in January (Wonder when it arrived in LA) and then B2B cruises on the Dream in April. :-)

For being a CC member, you will get to do your online check-in and make your excursion/Palo reservations at 90 days out (instead of 75). You will also have a CC gift in your stateroom when you arrive :thumbsup2

For shore excursions, I have not done the MR myself but we are looking at the Scuba experience for my DH and DD in PV, while my DS and I do the Pirate cruise. I don't know if we will do anything in Cabo (possibly a beach day). There isn't a private island type experience on the MR cruises though (unfortunately). For more ideas, I have been checking out the Trip Reports from the MR cruises earlier this year :)

Oh, I have been following that thread on the Alcohol policy also. As of now, it sounds like they have decided to hold off a while on implementing it. I hope they don't decide to start limiting it. Being local to the LA port, I was looking forward to being able to purchase what we want and bring it on board this trip. Maybe they will hold off and re-introduce it when they release the 2013 dates.

I have been trying to check things out on www.disneycruiseline.com (to get the exact times, etc) and I'm getting all kinds of errors. And new this morning, it looks like I am now on the 15-night Hawaii cruise instead of MR (woo hoo - won't my family be happy to hear that) :lmao: The site is all messed up. If I try to view the details of the cruise, it just gives me a page error. And there is no itinerary listed if you try to search for a new cruise either. Those web-masters are hard at work, LOL.

We will not be cruising with you guys anymore... We had to change our cruise to a later one due to moving.
Enjoy your cruise!

Sorry to see we lost a mate. I'm sure these boards will pick up as we get closer. I don't think anyone is more excited about this trip than we are.:cheer2:

I just gave our :yay: BFF :cheer2: BFF's wife

who will be sailing with us their first copy of
PassPorter's Disney Cruise Line 2011

And Tuesday the Wonder leaves Vancouver for it's repo cruise back to LA and we're going to go wave as it sails off! (we live in Seattle).

And my Dh and kids will be there to welcome it home to LA on the 25th (I'll be gone that day but they plan to go welcome her back here). :thumbsup2

I can't wait till she is back here again. We love going to the port on Sunday afternoons and watching her leave. Makes it even sweeter now that we know we will be back on her soon.

We go watch ships leave here in seattle too. I thought we were the only crazy ones. Next year the Wonder sails out of Seattle!

Do you know when we can get our dinning rotation? We would like to start figuirng out plans and possible Palo nights.

I just found this thread! Yep, we're going too. This will be our first Disney Cruise, but we've done several others. It will be me, my DH and our 14yo DS. We're DVC members from Michigan and we usually do WDW. I'm very excited to do this cruise. We're flying in the day before. Any thoughts on where to stay that night? We'll be in Huntington Beach at the end of October so we thought we'd head over to the port area and take a look around. So hard to pick a hotel off the internet. I like to see the area first.

Welcome aboard Ms Rox,

We are staying at Knotts Berry farm, I guess they have a hotel now. The friends going with us however are staying at the Double Tree San Pedro, right there by the port. Let us know what you see on your trip in October.

So I did not get to Vancouver to see the Wonder off back to LA, Darn work
keeps getting in the way.

Welcome!!!! I know a lot of people stay right across the street from the port but I don't recall the names. But if you check some of the trip reports, I'm sure you can find them. We go to San Pedro a lot to watch the Wonder leave on Sunday afternoons so if there are any hotels that you would like me to visually verify distance, etc..I would be glad to. Oh, it is almost the end of October already. When will you be here (or are you already)?

Well, now that I have our 2013 cruise booked, I figured I better stop back by here and show our MR Meet group some love  Wow...less than 6 months!! I was reading the navigators yesterday and getting very excited.

Funny, I was sitting with DS doing his reading last night and discovered something kinda interesting. He loves Titanic so he was reading a book about the ship. It looks like our cruise will be returning on the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic (April 15, 1912). DS thinks that is very cool :yay:

We just moved our cruise from the 4/15 to this one! It's so much busier, and so much more expensive :( ...but hopefully that will mean more people for an FE exchange :cool1:

We ended up waitlisted for the main dining room...any idea on what the chances are of getting switched to early? I really don't want to eat all that food at 8:15 at night!

We are traveling with my MIL, so it DH, me, DS (10) DD (8) and DD(6)...it's our second disney cruise we cruised in 5/11 to Alaska...

We are annual passholders and live in OC, so we'd probably be up for a meet before we go...we look forward to getting to know y'all!
Deanna:yay:

We did the same thing. Now spring break lines up with the cruise :)

We live in OC too and my dd is 8 so it sounds like it will be fun for the girls.

Welcome to the group!! We moved ours to this week also after finding out our Spring Break wasn't the week I thought it would be. I hope we get some more people showing up on this thread since it has been pretty slow so far. But I'm still up for an FE, even if we only have a few cabins participating :)

We are sailing the MR in less than two weeks and then I will focus on this cruise. I have had a lot of fun putting together the FE for this Novembers cruise so we will definitely participate on this cruise as well.

Oh wow...it is already here. I'm so excited for you guys! I can't wait to hear all about it when you get back :thumbsup2
