Hi there!
Just booked the cruise on Sunday. We'll better late than never. I'm traveling with my twin 7 1/2 yr. old girls and my mother. My husband can't make it due to conflicting spring breaks with my older 2 kids. Anyone have kids around this age??

Welcome lkd4--where are you from? Yes in answer to your question---I think nearly all of us do. I have a DS9, DS6,and DD3. Are you new to DCL?What questions might you have??Have you read about dress, excursions and our meet at Scoops (Goofy's Galley now) ----you know I guess they can't call it scoops anymore when there is no scooping occuring. Soft serve ice cream would be blobs and it just doesn't have the same ring.

I have a soon to be 9 year old daughter, and a 6 year old daughter. Was just wondering the other day if many reserved at the last minute.

Think they'll show ice-age 2 on the ship?

My best friend send me a link of a dress in Spiegel....I've actually made a last minute, express delivery order. Nuts, huh? I'm so much better packing at the last minute!

Anyone use walkie-talkies? Does anyone truely register for the license?

vavasmon--you sound very busy. Can I ask what your position is that requires all your travel? I used to be a project manager at the university of illinois. But after 17 years, was layed off. I'm now working part-time at the university...and have left the fast track. I also have a decorative painting business, (faux).

lksd4 - lots of resources on this web site. Ordering a passporter -- (express mail I would assume) might help you as well.

lak - That's too funny about the rush-order dress! That sounds like something I would do (don't give me any ideas!). We don't use walkie-talkies but I know others do. Not sure about the movies. I would like to see Eight Below.

Judy - blobs! It's Goofy's Galley now anyway!!

lak - I am a software engineering manager - We are starting a rollout of the next upgrade so I get to do the first few trips.

UM you are right about the No. VA bus at 10am. The person I spoke with was very helpful. She mentioned that my "discount" rate could not always book the early shuttle but since we aere under 2 weeks she let me book. Hard to believe in one week we will be there. The three of us will be wearing our lime green tee-shirts. Habe you ever eaten at the Raddison.

My first stop on the ship will be at the Rock'N D bar to try and get a Palos brunch. Then we will go to lunch - probably the buffet on deck 9 so we can sit outside if the weather is nice.

lkd my DD is 10.

I went to WalMart to buy the disposable water cameras and they were aold out. I will check at my parents tomorrow. We will pack on Sunday. It should take less than an hour to put it all together. DD and I did our 2 door signs last week.

DH and I are hoping to watch the basketball game tomorrow night - we are both George Mason grads x2. We actually met in a computer room in the basement of Thompson Hall on Mason's campus 21 years ago. Is that a geek story or what?

Let me be the first to say. ONE WEEK today and we'll be on the Magic. DH is watching her in PC on the webcam right now. (He needs a vacation! )

Vava Let me know if you can't get the underwater cameras. I picked up 2 at Walmart on Thursday and they had plenty. I can pick up a few for you.

We will be packed by Sunday night. DS has 2 soccer games this weekend and dd is in a Cabaret this evening.

Thanks for the welcome. We are from Boca Raton, FL and this will be our 3rd Disney Cruise. (JUly 2004, March 2005). Everyone is excited and can't wait to go. We were unable to book Palo and an excursion in Cozomel as they are sold out. Hopefully, things will open up when we get on board.

Pocono - Thanks for the offer I was able to find them at the WalMart by my parents a little while ago. That was the last thing on my need to buy mental list. Hard to believe we will all be meeting up in one week at Goofys. I also check out the web cam before breakfast this am - it was so exciting to think that next time it will be us boarding.


LisaMS my DD is also 10 - we will be at the DIS meet the first afternoon. This is our second Disney Cruise. The first was a 4 night Dec 29 - Jan 2. We had never cruised before but now we are "hooked".

Did any of you guys happen to notice how may cabins seem to be freeing up? At one time this cruise showed no availablility (about 6 weeks ago). I used the web site this am and there is even a cat 4 available.

Hello everyone! We are just done watching the George Mason game. Too bad for the local team but they did go far!

Vavasmon - No, we haven't eaten at the Radisson before. Not sure we will this time either since we have a rental car.

We also watched the Mason game. Considering they had never advanced past the first round before they did very well.

We will be eating a week from now (We are hoping for Annimator Palette the first night so that my Pallos dinner works Key West night - we want to miss PC).

I was a project manager for software development in my previous "life". Was also a Quality Assurance Engineer....testing software and leading testing projects.

Do I understand correctly that possible upgrades at checkins are not at a discounted rate? That we might be able to do an upgrade, but would have to pay full price?

How early is early enough for arriving at the port?

We'll be having brunch at Palo in Key West.

The packing has begun! We're getting psyched.

LAK, dh has called DCL several times over the past week or so. If we upgrade before we get to the port, we have to pay the full price difference. The CM was rude and not very helpful. We hoping for one of those $600 upgrades at the port that I have read about.

One soccer game down and another to go this afternoon. They lost yesterday. The cabaret was great! This was our first time with this music school. Kate & Brett's piano teacher is an incredible piano player and a nice guy on top of that. Kate did a nice job on her piece.

Lisa, my dd, Kate, is 11 almost 12. She will be in the club for some of the time.

I'm off to pack somemore!

I am happy to report that we are packed.

The suitcases are in the guest room all weighed and ready to go. 3 large suitcases/duffles; 1 carryon backpack; and 1 camera bag. In case you have not flown reciently, video cameras must come out of bags like laptop computers.

I just need to arrange for the cab on Friday am.

I agree about rude Disney CMs the 2 we spoke with about DDs docs would have made you believe that I was responsible for Disney's mistake. We are sailing RCCL in Nov and next April and I am suprised that the last 2 people I spoke with were much nicer than my last 2 Disney CMs.

lak - You can really arrive at the port any time you like (before 3:00 or so). We like to be early so we can talk with other folks and get the vacation started!

DS played his first baseball game of the season yesterday and they won!

How funny you guys! DH and I are also in IT/software engineering! All of us geeks must need a vacation at the same time!

When is everyone leaving home? We are leaving Thursday afternoon!
