We used Hertz. DH dropped us off at the port and made it back before I got to the head of the line to check us in. We had dinner at Boma last month. AKL is so nice. The kids and I loved seeing the animals up close.

Are your kids just going back to school? Our kids have been back for 3 weeks. I remember visiting my SIL in Baldwinsville in January a few years ago. It started to snow and we packed up and got out of there before it got too bad. You guys get more snow than us. YIKES

Well thought I would jump in as I put a deposit down on this cruise today. We have cabin 8592 and 2631.

There will be 6 of us. My hubby and I, DD 17, DS 11, DD 6 and DS 5. This will our first Disney cruise. Ive done 2 other cruises before but really looking forward to the kids being able to have there own things to do and DH and I being able to find time ALONE!!!

Cute kids. DCL is a great time for families. We're traveling with DH's family this time. MIL & FIL are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary a little early. My dd is 11 and will be 12 in June. She doesn't spend too much time in the clubs anymore. She likes to go to the movies, shopping, ping pong and the pools. My son will be 8 by then and will be in the 8-9 group. The staff was nice enough to allow him to try out the 8-9 group in June. He loved being in that group. He finally got to move across the hall.

This is my first Disney cruise and this will be a family trip. In total, we'll have a group of 9. My husband and me, and our two daughters ages 5 and 3 as well as mu brother, his wife, and their two kids, and my Mom. We're on Deck 6 near the front of the boat. I hope that will be OK!

I don't see a lot of younger kids mentioned in these threads. I hope there are some little ones on board!

Glad you guys will be joining us. THis was your first post. Welcome to the Disboards. There is a wealth of information on these boards and a lot of nice people on these boards. We met a great group of dissers on our cruise in May. We met Umterp, who will be on this cruise, on our second cruise.

Our son was 5 on our first cruise. He loved the cruise so much that he said he would give up going to the parks if he could go on another cruise. Any questions, feel free to ask away.

thanks for the rental advise. My kids are looking forward to both AKL and the cruise. April should be about the time the snow goes away, we hope. We do get our share don't we.

I'm waiting to see if I can get a decent price for airfare. I was so busy concentrating on the repo cruise that I haven't gotten any flights for this cruise. I'm hoping Independence Air or Southwest will have something decent. The main airlines are just too expensive right now. We may cancel if I can't find decent airfare. Can't see paying a premium for an itinerary we have already done and so many repeats for the evening shows. We have seen most of them three times now. I'll keep you posted.

Hope all of the kids are getting excited about Halloween!

Hi Umterp,

I haven't booked our hotel for the night before the cruise or the 2 days after the cruise. I guess I better get on it. I'm waiting for Southwest to open up their airfare for April 2006. I think they're booking out to sometime in February. Can you guys fly Southwest? I got $49 airfare for the trips in August and September. Unfortunately, those prices were pre Katrina. We'll have to wait and see what they come it with. Bob saw an article about Southwest in the New York Times business section last week. The author was wondering how Southwest was going to handle the fuel costs. I read another post that DCL airfare was coming in cheaper than booking the airfare separately. I guess I should check into DCL too.

I tried checking the rates for 2007 Palm Sunday to Holy Saturday (same weeks as this trip only in 2007). There are no rates available for that week. I hope that means that they will be coming up with a different itinerary. We'll be celebrating our 20th anniversary in 2007 and were hoping for some different ports. Bob said he'd like to try a repo if they did another one. Would you do another repo trip? If not, why?

We're in for another rainy weekend here in the Poconos. If it rains too hard all the leaves will be off the trees. It's really pretty here right now. Stay dry.

What did you guys decide about WDW in November? Hopefully, the weather will get better!!!!

Yes, we can fly Southwest out of Baltimore. We are flying them in Nov for WDW. We are going Nov4-8 and staying at Pop. I got ADRs for all nights no problem. Thanks again for your advice.

I know what you mean about wanting new itineraries! They also need new shows! Especially the comedy type acts. How many times do you need to hear the same jokes?

Regarding the repo - yes, we would do it again. But you know, what really put the icing on the cake for that trip were all of the DISer's and all of the activities they all planned. We had a meet, wine tasting, tour of rooms, pirate book reading, gifts for everyone, glow stuff for the kids, etc. We had groups that planned their own excursions, bus transportation to and from the ports in CA and FL, groups coordinating their DCL excursions. These extra events really gave you something to look forward to. Without them it wouldn't have been nearly as fun. I'm sure if there are other repo cruises that alot of DISers will go, so shouldn't be a problem. I loved having the extra 7 days - it was great knowing that we didn't have to go home after the first friday! I hope they do it again so you get to experience it! Going through the canal was awesome!

Update - bought our plane tickets last night so we are going! Now, have to get some hotel ressies and a good rate on a rental car.

Anyone ever use Priceline or Hotwire to get a hotel at MCO?
